Role Description We are seeking a reliable and experienced CDL Dump Truck Driver to join our team at Buchanan Transportation. This role involves performing local deliveries with a focus on safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently. - Operate a dump truck safely and efficiently to transport materials for local deliveries. - Load and unload materials as required, ensuring secure and proper handling. - Maintain daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly. - Adhere to all federal, state, and company safety regulations and protocols. - Communicate effectively with dispatch and management to ensure timely deliveries. - Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption. Qualifications - Valid Commercial Driver’s License class A (CDL) with a clean driving record, and DOT medical examination certificate. - Proven experience operating dump trucks in a local delivery setting. - Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to commercial driving. - Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading and unloading materials. - Excellent time management skills and reliability. - Ability to work independently as the position is remote. Role Description Buchanan Transportation is looking for professional, dedicated Over-the-Road truck drivers. Home weekends and some weeknights. - Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers - Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance - Plan routes and meet delivery schedules - Responsible for proper load securement - Document and log work/rest periods and mileage spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts - Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures - Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions - Collect and verify delivery instructions - Report defects, accidents or violations Qualifications - Must have a current class A CDL license and DOT medical examination certificate - Minimum of 1 year of flat bed experience necessary
