Role Description We are seeking a compassionate, qualified Child Therapist to provide therapeutic support to children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will be experienced in using age-appropriate therapeutic techniques to help young clients process trauma, improve coping skills, and support their mental and emotional growth. - Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to understand the mental health needs of children. - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices. - Provide individual therapy for children dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, behavioral disorders, and family conflict. - Collaborate with families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care. - Educate parents and caregivers on strategies to support the child’s therapy goals at home and school. - Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards. - Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. - Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development. Qualifications - Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. - Licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC) in Virginia. - Specialized training or certification in child/adolescent therapy (e.g., play therapy, CBT, trauma-focused therapy) is preferred. - Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with children and families in a clinical setting. - Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to build trust and rapport with children of varying ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and developmental stages.
