Role Description We're looking for a Product Designer to take ownership of product design at BarnTools. You'll work directly with our Head of Design, collaborating closely on the craft while building toward leading your own projects soon after onboarding. This is a high-ownership role with a fast ramp. You'll be responsible for all aspects of product design across BarnTalk and Barn360: - Discovery - UX flows - Visual design - Prototyping - Partnering with product and engineering through shipping What You'll Do: - Own product design end-to-end: research, flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity UI, and developer handoff - Lead design projects independently within your first few months, from problem framing through shipped solution - Design clear, useful data experiences: dashboards, alerts, and visualizations that help users make decisions at a glance - Grow your scope quickly through tight feedback loops with the Head of Design, taking on larger and more ambiguous problems over time - Collaborate closely with engineering and product to scope work, iterate in production, and maintain high quality user experiences - Help maintain and evolve our Harvest design system to keep the product consistent and the team fast Qualifications - 3–5 years of professional experience designing shipped digital products - A portfolio demonstrating strong UX thinking and visual craft. Qualifications - Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field, with preference to degrees in Ag, Business, and/or MIS - 2+ years of Help Desk, Technical Support, Customer Service/Success, or equivalent experience in roles with a strong focus on communication, troubleshooting, and solving customer’s challenges - English speaking fluency required - Certifications in Customer Support, Success, and/or Project Management preferred - Preference to candidates with a familiarity or background in agriculture - Background with e-commerce and SaaS driven Customer Support highly preferred - Familiarity with HubSpot, Jira, and OpenPhone preferred - Familiarity with e-commerce and payment software like Shopify, BigCommerce, Stripe, etc preferred - Technical savvy and curiosity to know more about the customer’s processes and challenges - Solid technical background with an ability to give instructions to a non-technical audience - Proven verbal communication skills - a people person who is well-spoken and a great listener - Proven written communication skills - clear, concise, positive, and grammatically correct - Proven troubleshooting skills that think outside the box and keep digging for answers - Proven ability to understand complex problems and explain the source of those problems simply - Proven ability to perform assigned tasks and complete work on schedule with minimal supervision and prioritize competing demands - Well organized with the ability to multi-task and complete projects - Comfortable working in a startup environment, with a willingness to participate beyond your core job responsibilities, voice your ideas, and impact change - Must have a stable internet connection and quiet space to work Requirements - Support customers Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm Central. We are a growing startup trying to scale efficiently, so hours may shift in the future depending on the needs of the business. - Be a BarnTools product expert and teach customers how to use both the mobile and web application and our hardware. - Monitor inbound inquiries via phone, email, and webchat utilizing HubSpot and OpenPhone call center, and provide a delightful overall support experience that ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. - Manage customer inquiries within expected time frames and escalate as needed through appropriate Incident Management channels. - Take inbound orders and communicate shipping updates as needed. - Create technical documentation for customer use and for internal use, including contributing to the Help Center and our internal knowledge base. - Use HubSpot and various tools to track customer communication, issues, and metrics. - Troubleshoot technical problems together with our development team and customers. - Review reports and analyze customer data to predict issues prior to customers experiencing them and engage proactively. - Work with the customer success team to improve established processes and best practices preparing for team expansion over time. - Work closely with BarnTools peers to drive adoption by ensuring customers are effectively onboarded, trained, and supported throughout the customer journey. - Work with the product development team as needed to provide feedback, testing, and customer engagement on new beta functionality. - Advocate for customers internally by providing continuous feedback to BarnTools’ Sales, Marketing, & Engineering teams. - Some travel may be required for training and company events <10% expected but depending on the hire’s location and skillset you may add value by going on-farm occasionally. About The Role We are looking for a Grower Onboarding Manager familiar with agriculture and experienced in Customer Support and Success. In this role you will be responsible for onboarding growers onto the BarnTalk platform, training them how to use the app, triaging any potential support needed, and ultimately ensuring they have a world class customer experience. This is a remote position located anywhere in the US. If a full-time or hybrid office environment is preferred then HQ is in West Des Moines, Iowa. Key Responsibilities: - The Grower Onboarding Manager serves as the primary point of contact for growers new to BarnTalk, managing the entire customer lifecycle by focusing on business outcomes, and identifying opportunities for growth within their integrator’s network. - Work closely with Sales, Enterprise Customer Success, and Customer Support while owning the onboarding, training, and alarm adoption process. - Be a BarnTools product expert and teach customers how to use both the mobile application and hardware. - Complete Health Checks with customers to ensure their systems are set up optimally. - Advocate for customers internally by providing continuous feedback to BarnTools’ Sales, Marketing, & Engineering teams. - Ensure customers are continuously working toward key customer journey milestones. - Create technical documentation for customer use and for internal use, including building out the Help Center and our internal knowledge base. - Use HubSpot and various tools to track customer communication, issues, and metrics. - Work with the ECSM and CS team to improve established processes and best practices preparing for team expansion over time. - Work with the product development team as needed to provide feedback, testing, and customer engagement on new functionality. - Troubleshoot technical problems together with our development team and customers. - Some travel may be required for training, company events, and/or a few customer visits <10% expected. Experience and Qualifications: - Strongly Preferred: - - Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field, with preference to degrees in Ag, Business, and/or MIS - 3+ years of Customer Success, Swine or Poultry Production, Account Management, Consulting, Solution Engineering, Sales, or equivalent experience in roles with a strong focus on communication, consulting, influencing, project management, and building relationships - Understanding of poultry and swine business and the associated responsibilities growers have in caring for the animals on their farms. - Preferred: - - Certifications in Customer Success and/or Project Management - Background with e-commerce and SaaS driven Customer Success - Familiarity with HubSpot and various CS platforms and CS concepts - Familiarity with e-commerce and payment software like Shopify, Stripe, etc - Proven ability to understand complex problems and explain the source of those problems simply - Self-starter with ability to manage time and prioritize competing demands - Technical savvy and curiosity to deeply understand the customer’s challenges and identify solutions - Comfortable working in a startup environment, with a willingness to participate beyond your core job responsibilities, voice your ideas, and impact change - Comfortable working in a remote work environment with a stable internet connection and quiet space to set yourself up for success What We Offer: - An exciting, fast-paced work environment where your ideas can be acted on swiftly.
