General Purpose: Utilize underwriting expertise, communication and problem-solving skills to create a preeminent experience for our customers, while ensuring that workers’ compensation insurance policies are underwritten profitably, fairly and accurately. Essential Duties / Responsibilities: - Product Expertise - Apply comprehensive Workers Compensation knowledge to review applications and policies, ensuring that exposures are classified correctly and accurately priced, while following appropriate state rules (NCCI or independent bureau states) and statutes. - Maintain a deep understanding of Workers Compensation Insurance, staying current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices. - - Customer & Agent Advocate - Educate and guide customers and agents through the complicated world of workers’ compensation insurance, ensuring that their policy is written accurately and, just as importantly, that they understand it. - Partner with agents to identify and implement opportunities to grow with us. - - Innovator - Collaborate with our cross functional team to identify and share customer pain points, helping drive solutions that decrease cost, continually improve customer satisfaction that aligns with our philosophy of any easy, straight through experience for our agents. - Assist with continually improving internal processes with a strong emphasis on Lean methodology and philosophy. - - Decision Scientist - Apply data analytics and pricing tools to appropriately price workers’ compensation policies and identify actionable insights for customers. - Utilize workers’ compensation knowledge to review applications and policies, ensuring that exposures are classified correctly and accurately priced, while following NCCI rules and state statutes. - - Sales Executive - Drive new business growth by leveraging sales techniques to build strong relationships with partners, customers, and agents, guiding them effectively through the sales process. - - Additional Duties: - Participate in MGA launch activities, to ensure continued profitable growth and smooth transition to “steady state”. - Participate in customer worksite visits, agency visits and other key business meetings. - Serve as a trusted underwriting expert on projects and committees throughout the organization. - Perform other duties as assigned. - Minimum Qualifications: - In addition to the competencies outlined below, a successful candidate will have two or more years previous experience working directly with customers and be comfortable operating in a sales environment. Bilingual is a plus. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Cloud Architecture: Architect and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure primarily within Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, and IAM. - Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Lead the implementation and maintenance of infrastructure using Terraform or similar tools, ensuring all environments are version-controlled and reproducible. - Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash, or Go) to eliminate manual tasks and improve operational efficiency. - Containerization: Manage and optimize containerized application environments using Docker and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes or AWS ECS). - CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design and support robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate application releases and reduce deployment risk. - Observability & Reliability: Implement and manage modern observability frameworks (logging, metrics, and tracing) to proactively monitor system health and performance. - Performance Engineering: Monitor system capacity and performance, performing right-sizing exercises and scaling configurations to meet business growth. - Security & Compliance: Enforce infrastructure security best practices, including access control (Least Privilege), network hardening, and automated vulnerability scanning. - FinOps & Cost Control: Partner with leadership to monitor cloud spend and implement cost-optimization strategies. - Incident Response: Troubleshoot complex infrastructure-related issues and participate in a blameless post-mortem culture to prevent recurrence. - Documentation: Maintain high-quality technical documentation for infrastructure designs, standard operating procedures, and disaster recovery plans. - On-Call Support: Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure the 24/7 reliability of production systems. - Other duties as assigned.
