Role Description We are seeking an experienced cardiometabolic Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our Medical Affairs (MA) team in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This field-based role offers a unique opportunity to support the advancement of innovative clinical-stage and launch-ready therapies that have the potential to improve patient outcomes. In this role, you will build and maintain trusted relationships with healthcare professionals through high-quality scientific engagement. You will lead scientific exchange, deliver clinical and scientific insights, and serve as a key partner in ensuring the appropriate understanding and use of our therapies across the medical community. Responsibilities - Engage with cardiologists / endocrinologists / healthcare professionals / stakeholders to educate on clinical and scientific evidence to advance treatment landscape as aligned with strategic imperatives. - Educate on RNAi technology, hypertriglyceridemia, familial chylomicronemia syndrome, and hypercholesterolemia. - Synthesize and communicate clinical and scientific insights to internal stakeholders. - Attend and present at scientific congresses and meetings to stay up to date with the latest scientific developments and trends in cardiometabolic therapeutic area. - Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with MSL compliance standards. - Support company sponsored clinical trials through investigator site engagement. - Support speaker training as requested and ensure speakers are up to date with evolving disease and product data. - Support national, regional, and local scientific congresses including Opinion Leader (OL) engagement, session coverage, booth, and company debriefs. - Monitor and analyze scientific publications, clinical trials, and competitive landscape in the cardiometabolic therapeutic area. - Maintain clinical and scientific expertise and general industry business acumen. - Advance MSL value proposition, demonstrate tact and professionalism, and deliver results. - Act in accordance with company policies. - Develop territory specific OL and account plans including OL profiles, pre-call planning, and follow up plans. - Communicate clinical and scientific information in an accurate and clear manner. - Document MSL quantitative and qualitative accomplishments. - Provide scientific support for Med Info inquiries, ensuring accurate and timely responses to healthcare professionals' queries. - Develop scientific content for medical education initiatives. - Support Medical Affairs as needed with special projects and initiatives. - Sophisticated cross-functional relationship management is critical for success. Qualifications - PhD, PharmD, MD, or DO degree. - Five or more years of experience as an MSL. - Cardiometabolic therapeutic experience. - High level verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic environment. - Strong comprehension of cardiometabolic therapeutic area. - Ability to interpret key scientific data and translate the findings to meet educational and research needs to affect corporate research strategic activities/decisions. - Ability to identify the unmet medical, educational, and research needs at a local & regional level in the medical community. - An understanding of the health care delivery system, including the managed care arena and its impact on patient care, regional medical care and the pharmaceutical industry. - Understanding of the design and execution of research studies and strategic implications. - Proven ability to drive results at a high level of quality as a strategic and creative thinker. - Demonstrates ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in an ever-changing environment. - Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage projects and/or colleagues in successful implementation of business-critical projects. - Strong time management & organizational skills. - Travel (national and international) will be required. • Develop and oversee comprehensive system-level account strategies across priority IDNs and health systems. • Ensure consistent, disciplined enterprise planning across Key Account Managers. • Guide formulary engagement strategy, P&T positioning, and protocol development efforts. • Drive integration of therapies into clinical pathways, treatment algorithms, and order sets. • Monitor system-level adoption metrics and implement corrective strategies to accelerate pull-through. • Lead regional enterprise business reviews and provide strategic recommendations to senior commercial leadership. • Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Key Account Managers. • Conduct structured field coaching focused on executive engagement, value storytelling, and health economics discussions. • Elevate team capability in navigating complex decision-making hierarchies within health systems. • Build succession plans and leadership readiness within the regional KAM organization. • Foster a culture of collaboration, compliance, and strategic accountability. • Support executive-level stakeholder engagement including C-suite, pharmacy leadership, P&T committees, population health leaders, and value analysis committees. • Guide compliant value-based discussions, including health economic and real-world evidence conversations. • Ensure alignment between enterprise decision-makers and field-level prescriber activation efforts. • Navigate multi-layered institutional approval processes with strategic agility. • Partner closely with Regional Sales Directors to align system strategy with territory execution. • Coordinate with Health IT leaders to support EHR integration and patient identification initiatives. • Collaborate with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Commercial Operations to remove systemic barriers. • Provide actionable regional insights regarding competitive dynamics, formulary positioning, and access trends. • Own regional enterprise performance targets and adoption objectives. • Monitor forecast accuracy and system-level growth indicators. • Drive disciplined CRM documentation and reporting standards. • Ensure compliant and ethical conduct across all enterprise engagements. • Field-based travel required (~60%), including system-level meetings and executive engagements.
• Lead compliant, non-promotional scientific exchange with national commercial payers, PBMs, government payers, and IDNs regarding Arrowhead’s cardiometabolic RNAi assets. • Present and contextualize Phase II/III data, outcomes data, real-world evidence, and long-term safety and durability findings in a payer-relevant framework. • Support proactive pre-launch and peri-launch payer engagement strategies to inform coverage policy development. • Establish Arrowhead as a credible scientific partner in discussions related to lipid management, cardiovascular risk reduction, and metabolic disease. • Identify payer-relevant evidence gaps and translate them into actionable recommendations for clinical development and RWE planning. • Partner with Medical Value Evidence and Outcomes, Medical Affairs to ensure AMCP dossiers, value narratives, and budget impact models reflect the scientific and economic drivers most relevant to cardiometabolic payers. • Provide medical input into discussions supporting value-based reimbursement models while maintaining clear compliance boundaries. • Contribute to endpoint and subpopulation strategy discussions to ensure alignment with future reimbursement expectations. • Serve as the Medical Affairs representative in cardiometabolic payer strategy and launch planning discussions. • Collaborate with Market Access to ensure scientific consistency in payer-facing materials and engagement strategy. • Align closely with Medical Value Evidence and Outcomes to incorporate payer insights into trial design and long-term evidence planning. • Partner with Field Medical leadership to ensure consistent scientific messaging across stakeholder audiences. • Monitor evolving payer policies, prior authorization trends, step therapy frameworks, and specialty management approaches within cardiometabolic disease. • Provide regular strategic updates on payer sentiment, competitive positioning, and reimbursement risk considerations. • Translate payer feedback into clear, prioritized insights for senior Medical Affairs leadership.

• Develop, maintain, and execute external engagement strategic field medical plan in the US and abroad. • Drive the identification, profiling, and segmentation of opinion leaders (OLs). • Identify, hire, and train top candidates to build a highly effective MSL team. • Develop and retain top candidates by setting clear expectations and timely coaching, motivating and guiding the team to ensure execution and achievement of strategic goals. • Implement field medical initiatives and develop scientifically based resources that are compliant with legal and regulatory and company guidelines to effectively communicate scientific rationale, data, protocols and other relevant information. • Collaborate cross-functionally, including but not limited to Program Leadership, Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Commercial. • Partner with clinical operations to ensure support of investigators in ongoing clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, and registries consistent with company objectives and regulations. • Lead the field medical team at national and regional scientific conferences, including but not limited to OL engagement, staffing medical affairs booths, attending scientific sessions, gathering competitive intelligence, and developing pre- and post-conference scientific materials. • Facilitate regular and timely analysis and communication of MSL insights/market trends to identify and inform strategies, scientific data gaps, and update field resources needed to meet business objectives. • Track and provide quantitative and qualitative data from MSL activities that demonstrate customer impact to the broader organization and ensure goal achievement. • Manage annual budget and allocation of resources, including contracts, SOWs, and invoices are submitted accurately and in a timely manner. • Establish standard operating procedures and best practices with the highest standards in healthcare compliance. • Become an expert in the current treatment landscape for the cardiometabolic platform, including Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome (FCS), Severe Hypertriglyceridemia (SHTG), and Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH), and maintain up to date through horizon scanning and literature awareness. • Understand current state of the art and new developments in RNA interference.
