This is a remote position. Head of IT: USA & Canada Affinitas Education Who We Are Affinitas Education partners with schools to help them do what they do best: support students and educators. We work alongside leadership teams by providing guidance, resources, and access to knowledge that strengthens school communities and supports meaningful learning environments for students. Position Summary The Head of IT: USA & Canada is responsible for leading technology strategy, infrastructure development, cybersecurity, and operational support across multiple school sites within the Affinitas Education network. This role ensures secure, reliable, and scalable technology systems that support student learning, staff productivity, and regulatory compliance. The Regional IT Director will play a critical leadership role in new school build-outs, overseeing end-to-end technology deployment, vendor coordination, and infrastructure readiness. This position requires deep expertise in both Microsoft and Google ecosystems, strong experience in educational environments, and the ability to manage IT operations across multiple locations. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Regional Oversight - Lead IT operations and technology strategy across multiple school sites within the region - Align regional IT operations with Global standards and expectations - Develop and implement scalable technology standards for all campuses - Partner with executive leadership on long-term technology planning and budgeting - Ensure alignment of IT systems with educational and operational goals - Provide leadership and mentorship to IT staff and site-based technology personnel - Manage vendor relationships and service-level agreements Infrastructure & New School Build-Outs - Design and implement technology infrastructure for new school campuses - Oversee installation of networks, servers, wireless systems, and security systems - Coordinate technology readiness timelines for school openings - Ensure standardization of technology environments across all locations - Manage hardware procurement, configuration, and deployment - Lead technology integration during school expansions or relocations Cybersecurity & Student Data Protection - Lead cybersecurity strategy and risk management initiatives - Implement and maintain security protocols for student information systems, staff systems, network infrastructure, and cloud environments - Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments - Manage incident response and data breach procedures - Oversee endpoint security, access controls, and identity management Systems & Platform Management - Microsoft Ecosystem - Microsoft 365, Azure, Azure AD, SharePoint, Teams, Active Directory, Endpoint management - Google Ecosystem - Google Workspace for Education - Google Admin Console - Chromebooks device management - Google Classroom integration - User provisioning and security policies Multi-Site IT Operations - Provide technology support for multiple school campuses - Ensure consistent service delivery across locations - Monitor system performance and uptime - Establish IT standards and operating procedures - Coordinate helpdesk and field support operations - Manage hardware lifecycle planning Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure adherence to technology and data privacy regulations - Maintain documentation for audits and regulatory reviews - Develop policies for acceptable use and data security - Lead disaster recovery and backup planning Salary - $120,000-$140,000 USD with 10% bonus Why Affinitas Education? - Work that directly supports schools and educators - Opportunity to build relationships across diverse school communities - Remote work with meaningful, people-centered impact - Competitive compensation and benefits To Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter describing your motivation to apply for this role and how your background and work experience will support our schools. The Role We are looking for a School Network Finance Manager who enjoys providing hands-on business and financial support while helping guide schools toward strong, sustainable operations across the U.S. and Canada. You will support the day-to-day financial management and oversight, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and clarity across multiple school communities. You will own key business processes for assigned schools, advise leadership on financial and operational matters, and collaborate with the broader team to implement improvements and projects.
