Role Description Primoris Power Solutions is hiring an Estimator II! The Estimator II manages moderately complex estimates within Primoris Power Solutions’ Estimating Department, preparing detailed cost estimates for substation, transmission, and distribution projects. This role demonstrates strong working knowledge of pricing, materials, and labor requirements, and works closely with senior team members to strengthen project management and estimating capabilities. The Estimator II supports the full pursuit lifecycle — from RFP review through bid turnover — and plays an active role in driving accuracy, risk analysis, and cost competitiveness. - Analyze RFP documentation, drawings, and specifications to fully understand project scope, and document scope-impacting language for future reference. - Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and miscellaneous cost categories using the B2W estimating software. - Develop and validate quantity take-offs using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) for substation work and Excel-based tools for transmission line scopes. - Solicit, evaluate, and document subcontractor and vendor pricing, including Best Value Analysis and RFQ management within Building Connected and B2W. - Support constructability discussions and means-and-methods development in coordination with SMEs and Project Delivery. - Populate and maintain the Risk Registry, identifying known and targeted risks and their potential cost impact. - Contribute to Basis of Estimate (BOE) narratives, ACE (Assumptions, Clarifications, Exclusions) documentation, and other proposal deliverables. - Participate in and help prepare for Constructability Reviews, Technical Reviews, and Executive Reviews. - Maintain accurate document control across pursuit folders in accordance with SOP naming and filing standards. - Begin engaging directly with clients, subcontractors, and vendors under the guidance of Senior and Lead Estimators. Qualifications - 3–5 years of estimating experience in electrical utility, substation, transmission, or distribution construction (or a closely related field/environment). - Working knowledge of cost estimating principles, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost development. - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and RFP/RFQ documentation. - Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to accuracy and detail. - Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and willingness to learn B2W, OST, and Building Connected. Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience with B2W (Bid2Win) estimating software or comparable estimating platforms. - Familiarity with high-voltage substation or transmission line construction methods. - Exposure to schedule development tools such as P6 or Microsoft Project. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, western North Carolina's forests, watersheds, and wildlife habitats sustained significant ecological damage. In response, NCWRC has established a 10-year time-limited division to lead a comprehensive, multi-year effort focused on ecological stabilization, species recovery, and long-term resilience. This division is responsible for the implementation of ecological restoration and infrastructure recovery across aquatic species, terrestrial species, habitat, genetics, infrastructure, and invasive species programs in close coordination with the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and other partners. The Brook Trout Restoration Supervisor is an administrative and supervisory position responsible for supervising Brook Trout Restoration teams. The position is administratively responsible for 8 permanent, full-time employees, including the direct supervision of four Conservation Biologist I and four Wildlife Conservation Technician I positions that make up the Brook Trout Restoration teams. This position is HOME-BASED. The workstation for this position is in the employee's home-based office using an agency-provided computer.
