Who We ArePerchwell is the modern real estate listings platform built for agents to search smarter, collaborate better, and close deals faster. We are building the future of residential real estateʼs critical listings infrastructure: a platform where market research and client collaboration converge. Our modern architecture enables continuous innovation at a pace legacy systems cannot match, with AI-powered features and mobile-first capabilities designed for how agents actually work. As consumer expectations and technology evolve, Perchwell remains focused on our core vision: empowering real estate professionals with the most intelligent, data-driven, and connected platform in the industry. Backed by leading venture capital firms including Lux Capital and Founders Fund, along with strategic partnerships with some of the country's top Multiple Listing Services (MLSs), Perchwell represents the first major new platform to enter the listings technology market in decades. This unique combination of institutional investment and deep industry alignment provides both the resources and market validation needed to transform the multi-trillion dollar residential real estate industry. What We’re Looking ForWe are looking for an experienced iOS engineer to take part in all stages of the product development and deployment lifecycle for our mobile applications. Mobile is a core part of our platform, real estate professionals rely on Perchwell while on the go, and our mobile experience is central to how agents search, collaborate, and close deals. As part of our small team of developers, you'll collaborate across the company to help shape our team, processes, and tech stack as we scale our business and technology. What You’ll Work On - Build exceptional iOS experiences: Design, build, and scale Perchwell’s iOS app serving real estate professionals, delivering fast, stable, and intuitive mobile experiences that empower users to search, collaborate, and close deals from anywhere. - Own projects end-to-end: Lead major iOS initiatives from technical design through launch, setting direction, driving execution, and ensuring quality every step of the way. - Accelerate product sales: Our mobile experience is a competitive differentiator for new clients and a delightful extension of the Perchwell platform. - Shape iOS architecture: Make key decisions on the structure and setup of our codebase to ensure it is scalable, maintainable, and testable in order to accelerate feature development and customer satisfaction. - Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with backend, product, design, and QA to deliver seamless, high-quality user experiences. Required For The Role - 7+ years of professional iOS development experience, with a strong command of Swift and the modern iOS ecosystem (UIKit, SwiftUI, Swift Concurrency, dependency management, etc). - Proven track record owning and delivering complex, high-impact features from architecture to development and release. - Deep understanding of mobile reliability and scalability, with a track record of identifying and resolving systemic issues. - Experience influencing technical direction - defining standards, driving architectural decisions, and aligning cross-functional teams. - Strong customer empathy - the ability to translate complex user needs into technical solutions that address both immediate problems and long-term product health. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders. - Strong collaboration with backend and product partners, translating business needs into technical execution. - Love ownership, iteration, and making things better every release. This role is open to remote, but those located in the NYC area will work out of our New York City HQ in Soho Manhattan at least 3 days/week. Preferred Qualifications - Modular iOS architecture - Experience designing and implementing feature modules and shared library modules using Swift Package Manager, with an understanding of dependency management strategies that support clean separation of concerns and fast incremental build times in Xcode. - Multi-app development - Experience with structuring the codebase to streamline developing and releasing multiple mobile applications in a single codebase. - Performance optimization - Experience with investigating, diagnosing, and fixing performance issues with iOS apps. - Familiarity with backend systems and APIs, particularly in the context of designing robust and functional client-server contracts for mobile applications. - Continuous integration - Familiar with common tools and techniques for structuring and organizing mobile builds and automated testing tracks to improve quality and reduce developer cycle time. Why Join PerchwellYour work will directly power how thousands of real estate professionals run their businesses, not just a small feature in a massive codebase. You’ll help shape our mobile architecture and standards from the ground up while working on a small, talented team that values autonomy, mentorship, and quality. You’ll collaborate in person with a tight-knit team from our SoHo office (3+ days per week), creating an energizing environment that keeps us connected. Role Description We're hiring a Junior iOS Developer to help build the mobile experience for collectors to use every day from managing their collections, connecting with the community, and opening Instapacks. - Work closely with the CTO and engineering team to ship features across our iOS app. - This is a hands-on product engineering role for someone early in their career who already knows how to build in Swift and SwiftUI, has worked with GraphQL, and wants to grow quickly inside a fast-moving startup. - You won't be handed endless tickets in a giant backlog; you'll work on real product problems, learn from one of the leading mobile engineers, and see your work go directly into the hands of passionate collectors. - If you love trading cards or collector communities, and want to level up fast, this is a role for you. What Success Looks Like - First 30 days: Get the app running locally, understand the core product flows, and ship your first meaningful fixes or small features. - By day 90: Regularly ship iOS work with support from the CTO and mobile lead; take a well-scoped feature or improvement, ask the right questions, implement it cleanly, test it, and get it into production. - By the end of year one: Become a reliable iOS contributor across some of the most important parts of the product; ship meaningful improvements to the collector experience, grow your Swift and SwiftUI craft, and earn ownership over increasingly important features. What You'll Do - Build and improve iOS features across Rare Candy's collector-facing product. - Integrate with GraphQL APIs and collaborate with backend engineers to shape clean, usable client-server contracts. - Fix bugs, improve polish, and raise the quality bar for the iOS app. - Work closely with product, design, and engineering to turn ideas into shipped experiences. - Learn quickly, ask good questions, and communicate clearly when something is blocked, unclear, or ready for review. You Might Be a Fit If - Have around 3 years of iOS development experience and have shipped real features in a production app or serious side project. - Comfortable building with Swift and SwiftUI. - Have worked with GraphQL, or have enough API experience to ramp quickly. - Care about product quality, UI polish, and the little details that make an app feel good. - Early in your career but serious about getting better; want feedback, mentorship, and real responsibility. - Comfortable in a fast-moving startup where priorities can shift and the best answer is often “figure it out, then make it better.” - Know the trading-card or collector world; collect, play, rip packs, follow the market, or have real fluency in a similar collectible space. What You'll Need to Thrive Here - Expected to take ownership of your role at Rare Candy and drive your own growth with support, context, and mentorship along the way. - The systems are still evolving, the team is small, and your work will matter immediately; you'll need to be curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning by doing. - If you like mobile product craft, collector communities, and the idea of building tools you would actually want to use yourself, you'll do great here. Why Join Us Now - Work on features collectors actually care about and are using every day. - Get real ownership early in your career while learning directly from experienced engineering leadership. - Join a high-trust, low-ego team that ships fast, celebrates wins, and cares deeply about the hobby. - Competitive startup comp, meaningful equity upside, and a salary range of $100,000-$120,000. - Full benefits: health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), and a wellness stipend. - A monthly dogfooding budget to spend on cards, because we hire people who love this hobby. How to Apply Apply through our Ashby posting and answer these: - Describe an iOS feature you built. What did you own, what technical choices did you make, and what was the result? - Explain a bug you debugged. What made it tricky, how did you track it down, and what did you learn? - What trading-card or collector communities do you understand best? Tell us your favorite card, set, format, deck, rip, or collector niche. Rare Candy is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate individuality, from Pikachu collectors to Planeswalker pros, and are committed to building an inclusive team.
