Peer Review Coordinator
American Psychological Association
• Ensure a timely, ethical editorial workflow for the assigned portfolio • Communicate daily with editors, authors, reviewers, and APA Journals staff • Manage manuscript submission process from initial author submission through peer review • Review submitted manuscripts for adherence to submission requirements and compliance • Provide extensive technical support and troubleshooting for Editorial Manager • Prepare reports on editorial statistics for editors and APA staff • Solve problems arising in the peer review process • Design departmental process improvements and lead training sessions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, English, or related fields
- At least 3 years of experience in scholarly publications
- Knowledge of the editorial and peer review process
- Experience with a sensitive customer base, such as scholarly authors and scientific editors
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Experience in a high-profile, deadline driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Email programs, Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with Editorial Manager, iThenticate, and DocuSign is preferred
