Laboratory Information Systems Specialist
Global Scientific Solutions for Health (GSSHealth)
• Support design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of LIS and LDX solutions. • Collaborate with the Association of USAPI Laboratories (AUL) and participate in meetings. • Work with laboratory staff and IT teams for end-to-end implementation of LIS and LDX solutions. • Customize and integrate LIS platforms to meet workflows and quality assurance protocols. • Support data migration, validation, and testing prior to go-live. • Maintain LIS and LDX performance ensuring data integrity and security. • Train laboratory and IT personnel in LIS use, workflows, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on LIS and/or health data exchange implementation and administration experience.
- Experience in networking, systems integration, and data interfacing (HL7, ASTM, FHIR, LOINC, API connections).
- Proven experience designing and maintaining LIS in clinical diagnostic laboratories.
- Strong familiarity with laboratory testing workflows (hematology, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, etc.).
- IT background and prior work in resource-limited or international health settings is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in one or more LIS platforms (e.g., OpenELIS, SENAITE, HCLab).
