Role Description Assist in tracking and providing the daily financial and business functions of the accounting process for Association accounts. - Prepare Accounts Payable documents, print checks, and copy/file all back-up related to payables. - Prepare Accounts Receivable invoices. - Track, verify, and assist in monitoring all accounts assigned. - Work with administrative, program and management staff to prepare grant billings and other Association invoices. This position will work with the SBN Finance Lead(s), as well as Association Finance Manager and Executive Director to complete assigned financial and records management tasks of the Association in a timely and efficient manner. Qualifications - High School Diploma or equivalent education. - Two years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field. - Advanced skills in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. - Ability to maintain confidential information relating to financial and sensitive personnel matters. - Ability to create and utilize spreadsheets, operate calculators, and maintain an orderly set of files. - Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines. - Ability to work as a team member. - Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions. - Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position. - Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate. Requirements - Associate degree (preferred). - Experience working with Acumatica Finance System (preferred). - Experience with non-profit, accrual basis of accounting (preferred). - Willingness to learn new skills and information (preferred). Position Details - Remote position. - Part-time non-exempt position, 20 hours per week, 50% FTE. - Hourly rate: $20.00 to $24.04 commensurate with experience. - Sponsorship for employment visa status is not available for this position. Position Responsibilities - Administrative Responsibilities: - Direction and Management - 5%: Monitor and record State and Federal appropriations received through Cornell University. - Set priorities in order to meet deadlines. - Assist in the preparation of budgets. - Coordination/Operation - 90%: - Process vouchers for payments ensuring accuracy. - Prepare invoices and required billing documents for funds owed to the Association. - Record cash receipt deposits, credit card, and PayPal account revenue. - Reconcile and record monthly Cornell University billing for payroll and expenses. - Responsible for accurate/timely posting of all financial transactions. - Maintain physical inventory of all CCE Delaware fixed assets. - Prepare and maintain monthly & year-end financial subsidiary schedules. - Assist with the reconciliation of grants. - Create new accounts & forms for grants, as needed. - Reconcile bank statements and balance petty cash. - Prepare and assist in the submission of fiscal year-end financial reports. - Work cooperatively with staff responsible for account reconciliations. - Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements. - Attend and participate in SBN Finance and HR meetings. - Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial, personnel, and association records. - Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned - 5%: - Develop and pursue a professional development plan. - Collaborate in activities that support Cornell Cooperative Extension.
