Job Description
Principal Engineer – Machine Learning, AV Operations Frameworks
Torc Robotics
• Contribute to the design, maintenance, and improvement of Torc's autonomous vehicle (AV) frameworks • Serve as a key technical lead for requirements and drive adoption of the AV Development Kit 3.0 with internal stakeholders • Promote development velocity through implementation, code review, and iterative improvement; be one of the team’s primary contributors to technical progress • Act as a trusted technical voice to facilitate collaboration between the Data Loop and Simulation teams within Torc’s AI division
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience
- Experience with large-scale distributed training, particularly using Ray
- Strong familiarity with the open-source ecosystem and demonstrated contributions to open-source projects
- Experience building ML/AI solutions that have reached production
- Comfortable with data science and the ML lifecycle/iteration
- Familiarity with compute and data platforms
- Experience in the autonomous vehicle industry (Level 4) or another related field
