We’re looking for a Senior DevOps & Cloud/SRE Engineer to build and optimize secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure for clients in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. You’ll work across small to medium-sized projects, usually two to three at a time, so strong context-switching skills are essential. Most workloads run on ECS and EC2 (with a few on Kubernetes), making solid Linux and database troubleshooting skills key as you collaborate with development teams to diagnose bottlenecks and improve performance. Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar infrastructure-focused engineering role.
  • Advanced spoken and written English skills.
  • Experience with Linux environments and scripting (Bash, Python, Go, etc.), plus strong Linux troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on experience performing database changes and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Problem-solving skills, assertive communication, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing cloud environments (preferably AWS or GCP).
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab CI.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of system security, networking concepts, and automation practices.
  • Nice to Have
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, or other container-based solutions).
  • Responsabilities
  • Solid ability to manage databases effectively, perform updates, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
  • Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring stability through well-defined short-, mid-, and long-term solutions.
  • ​​Extensive experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and GitOps automation practices.
  • Promote and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including secrets management, identity access control, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and production incidents to ensure system reliability and uptime.
  • Advocate for automation, observability, and DevOps culture across client and internal projects.
  • Continuously explore and recommend emerging technologies to enhance Stack Builders’ and clients’ operational excellence.
  • The projected hourly range for this position is $45.00 to $50.00, determined by the candidate's interview outcome, skills, experience, education, and alignment with market data.
