Senior DevOps Engineer – IoT

The Formula Consulting

• You join a team of 35 tech sassy Internet of Things and Sensor Technology engineers. • Partnering with your hiring manager, you: • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure for AI-driven applications. • Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable fast and secure deployments. • Ensure system reliability, performance, and security in sensitive, mission-critical environments. • Work closely with ML engineers to deploy and scale models in production. • Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform). • Monitor systems, troubleshoot incidents, and continuously improve observability. • Sometimes you support field operations by acquiring sensor data on site and validating the technology through controlled field trials.

Job Requirements

  • Due to to security regulations for this role, you have to hold citizenship of an EU Member State.
  • Hold a German work permit and Tax ID.
  • Live in Germany and happy to support field operations around Berlin.
  • Willingness to travel 10%.
  • Minimum 6 years full-time work experience as a DevOps engineer, Platform Engineer or SRE.
  • Worked for at least two years for one and the same employer.
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS and GCP.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices.
  • Expert knowledge of CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code.
  • Familiarity with security best practices in cloud and distributed systems.
  • Experience supporting data-heavy or AI/ML workloads.
  • Fluent in English, any other spoken language is a plus.
  • Passion for IoT and defense.
  • Personality that thrives in a driven startup/scaleup environment.
  • Ideally worked with Golang.
  • Ideally experience with bash scripting.
  • Ideally understanding of Apache license obligations, including attribution, notice files, and compliant redistribution of builds and containers.
