Environment Artist – Course Team

GOLF+

• Create high-quality, large-scale outdoor environments • Sculpt terrain, define construction and layout, and establish the visual identity of each course • Author and place foliage (grass, trees, plants) to build dense, believable ecosystems • Collaborate with technical artists to help shape and refine best-in-class course creation tools and workflows • Translate both real-world reference and original ideas into compelling playable spaces • Design and build original golf course environments from concept through final polish • Contribute to course layout, flow, and overall player experience • Create and optimize high-end 3D assets using Maya, Substance, and SpeedTree • Assemble, light, and polish environments in Unity • Ensure assets meet performance and memory budgets across platforms

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as an Environment Artist or similar role in games
  • Expertise in 3D modeling, texturing, and world building
  • Strong foundational art skills, eye for scene layout, and visual structure
  • Demonstrated experience building realistic outdoor environments and props
  • Strong eye for natural detail, scale, and material definition
  • Experience creating foliage and working with vegetation systems
  • Collaborative team member who embraces feedback and iterates effectively
  • Experience building assets optimized for both mobile and high-end PC
  • Proficiency in Maya, Blender, or similar DCC tools
  • Substance Painter/Designer
  • Experience working in real-time engines (Unity experience is a strong plus)
  • Unity Terrain and procedural terrain generators (Gaea, World Machine, True Terrain)

Role Description This is an independent contract role; candidates must have own workstation, adequate internet access, and necessary software access. The 2D Animator is responsible for producing high-quality character and performance animation that aligns with the series’ visual style and storytelling objectives. This role works closely with Directors and Production to deliver consistent, on-model animation within established schedules and pipeline requirements. Job Duties: - Create high-quality 2D animation using Harmony in alignment with the established series style and direction. - Look over and revise posing from the animation team to maintain a strong anime action look to the property. - Interpret and implement the Director’s vision while maintaining consistency in performance, timing, and acting. - Ensure all animation adheres to production specifications, naming conventions, and pipeline requirements. - Work from storyboards, layouts, and animatics to produce final animation ready for downstream departments. - Collaborate with Creative Director to meet quotas, targets, and delivery schedules. - Maintain shot continuity and consistency across sequences and episodes. - Address creative and technical notes promptly and accurately. - Communicate any blockers, delays, or risks to Production with advance notice. - Organize and manage files efficiently within the studio pipeline. - Participate in dailies, reviews, and team discussions, incorporating feedback effectively. - Support cross-department collaboration to ensure smooth handoffs between Layout, Animation, and downstream teams. - Contribute to a positive team environment aligned with Kickstart’s core values. - Interact respectfully and professionally with colleagues, partners, and clients. - Additional duties as requested.
