The Work: We are seeking a Microsoft 365 Records & Automation Engineer to support enterprise records management and automation initiatives within a federal environment. This role focuses on implementing Microsoft Purview Records Management capabilities, including trainable classifiers and automated classification strategies, while supporting SharePoint Online and Power Platform–based business solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technologist with experience in Microsoft 365, automation scripting (Python and PowerShell), and workflow automation. This role will support records classification, data migration efforts, and automation of data analysis and transformation processes. The position requires strong collaboration with records managers, analysts, and engineers to modernize records governance and streamline operational processes. This is a mid-level technical role supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 modernization efforts. Responsibilities: - Support implementation of Microsoft Purview Records Management policies, retention labels, and file plan configuration. - Assist in deployment and tuning of trainable classifiers and content classification models. - Analyze structured and unstructured data to support automated records classification. - Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and PowerShell for: o Metadata extraction and transformation o Data normalization and validation o Reporting and audit preparation o Migration data preparation - Support automation initiatives using Microsoft Power Automate and Microsoft Forms. - Configure and manage SharePoint Online sites, libraries, and permissions to support compliant records storage. - Assist in content migration activities ensuring records compliance and metadata integrity. - Collaborate with records management stakeholders to translate governance requirements into technical configurations. - Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 records, classification, and automation workflows. - Document technical solutions, configurations, and automation processes. Here’s What You Need: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. - 3–6 years of experience working with Microsoft 365 technologies. - Experience with Microsoft Purview compliance portal, including retention labels and records management. - Familiarity with machine learning–based classification concepts (e.g., trainable classifiers, content models, confidence scoring). - Strong scripting skills in: o Python (data manipulation, CSV/JSON handling, reporting automation) o PowerShell (Microsoft 365 administration and automation) - Experience with Microsoft Power Automate for workflow automation. - Experience configuring SharePoint Online (libraries, metadata, permissions, modern pages). - Understanding of data governance and records management principles. - Experience working with APIs, JSON, and data transformation. - Willingness to undergo Top-Secret Clearance investigation.
