SUMMARY The Construction Manager will oversee all construction projects, ensuring they adhere to schedules and budgets. * THIS IS A REMOTE WORK OPPORTUNITY THAT WILL REQUIRE EXTENSIVE TRAVEL. A CANDIDATE MAY LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES. NO RELOCATION WILL BE REQUIRED. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure jobsite safety, following all standards and codes. Lead initial planning, collaborating with stakeholders to detail job and material needs. Schedule projects logically and budget time to meet deadlines. Prepare budgets, communicate costs to clients, and make necessary budget adjustments. Plan, coordinate, and direct construction and maintenance activities for assigned structures. Oversee contract negotiations and adherence. Collaborate with staff and professionals to resolve project issues (procedures, complaints, design). Manage necessary actions due to delays, weather, or emergencies. Maintain positive relationships with all project participants (owners, designers, trades, etc.). Prioritize safety daily; lead by example and participate in Visible Felt Leadership (VFL). Comply with and enforce all MSHA, OSHA, and company safety policies. Perform other assigned duties. Travel as required. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 10 years of construction management experience. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, or Engineering preferred. Thorough understanding of engineering, blueprints, and construction drawings. Advanced knowledge of general construction methods, including mechanical structures and process handling equipment. Experience with concrete layout, surveying, and mechanical/structural construction. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management, and forecasting tools. Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, and regulations. Strong leadership skills for training and mentoring. Ability to work long or on-call shifts to manage projects, delays, and emergencies. Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of the jobsite in all weather, including walking, climbing, bending, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Complies with and enforces all MSHA, OSHA, and company safety policies. Must be able and willing to travel. Successfully pass pre-employment screenings (drug, background, MVR, physical). EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Clerical: Proficient in administrative and office procedures (word processing, filing, forms). Computers: Knowledge of computer hardware and software. Customer Service: Knowledge of customer service principles, including needs assessment and satisfaction. Safety and Security: Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and strategies for a safe environment. LANGUAGE SKILLS High Skills: Ability to read and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and regulations; write reports and manuals; and present information effectively. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Intermediate Skills: Ability to calculate discounts, interest, proportions, and apply basic algebra. REASONING ABILITY High Skills: Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret various instructions (written, oral, diagram). COMPUTER SKILLS Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Job requires working in all weather conditions, exposed to various odors, fumes, and particulate matter; potential hazards of heights, confined spaces, and loud noise. Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers. Ability to maintain equilibrium, bend, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, and work in small spaces. Standing, walking, and reading computer screens for long periods. Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds safely, adhering to weight limits. Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Use upper extremities to apply force up to 20 pounds. Repetitive bending and reaching in small areas. Strong vision (corrected) to distinguish colors. Ability to access all project areas, including via ladders or stairs under construction. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Ability to manage job stress and interact effectively; ability to concentrate.
