• Audit charts to ensure accurate ICD-10 CM and CPT code assignment as well as documentation integrity to prevent claim denials • Use critical and logical thinking skills in chart-auditing based on the guidance set forth by the client • Uphold netiquette and professionalism in any interaction with the TaskUs team, other vendors and the client • Review medical records and verify the documentation justifies the diagnostic and procedural codes (ICD-10 CM and CPT codes) • Verify and abstract all medical data from patient records, including treatment plans, diagnoses, and procedures • Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, including HIPAA and CMS guidelines • Monitor and report on coding-related trends and issues, and make recommendations for process improvements • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations, and attend continuing education courses as required to maintain CPC certification • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of coding activities and communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and other projects as assigned
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred
- CPC certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in an outpatient setting or for professional services
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems and guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Proficient in Google Sheets and electronic medical record (EMR) systems

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Radiologist to read evening emergency department and inpatient work. The position opening is for expansion due to increased volume and is eligible for remote work. This evening position rotates 1 week on (7 days, 9-hour shift, 6p-3am) and 2 weeks off (inclusive of recovery, vacation, CME, academic), equating to 121 clinical shifts per year. 17 weeks of remote clinical evenings per year! Remote from anywhere in the USA except New Jersey, Hawaii, or Alaska. The evening radiologist will focus their clinical care exclusively at one of the Southeast’s busiest Level 1 trauma centers (Grady Memorial Hospital), providing interpretations in conjunction with trainees. The primary clinical scope will involve chest and abdominal imaging, with the option to read other emergency imaging exams if preferred. A separate evening neuroradiologist will be responsible for neuroradiology work. Candidates should possess strong clinical skills, function well in a fast-paced, time-sensitive emergency setting, and work collaboratively. Participation in both clinical and non-clinical divisional activities, including education and trainee supervision, is expected. Opportunities for additional extra duty clinical work for additional salary are available if desired.
