Director, Forward Deployed Engineering

• Help define and evolve the operational direction of our implementation model as product and customer patterns evolve. • Serve as an escalation and resolution point for your leaders and book of business. • Directly manage Managers of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) and Technical Program Managers (TPMs), coaching performance, delegation, and conflict resolution while developing the next generation of delivery leadership. • Ensure clarity of ownership across pods, strengthen onboarding and enablement for FDE leaders, and create structure that enables managers and engineers to operate independently. • Build for current and future state profiles, partnering on headcount planning and resourcing tradeoffs while balancing customer commitments with sustainable capacity. • Tie delivery performance to utilization and renewal readiness, using data to inform tradeoffs and improve decision quality. • Act as connective tissue across GTM, Product, and Engineering, translating field patterns into actionable insights, and aligning delivery narratives with executive stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years in enterprise SaaS delivery, Professional Services, or Forward Deploy models.
- 3–5+ years leading managers in a customer-facing engineering organization.
- Experience owning delivery outcomes across multiple enterprise accounts.
- Strong commercial acumen and comfort operating against financial targets.
- Proven executive communication skills; comfortable presenting strategy to C-levels.
- Enterprise B2B SaaS experience.
- Insurance experience is a major bonus.
