Role Description We are looking for a motivated Backend / Full-Stack Developer Intern to support the development of Occibo mainly open to work in early stage startup. Duration: 3–6 months / Compensation: Unpaid mandatory internship You will work on the technical development of Occibo, mainly on backend services, APIs, database logic, file handling, AI workflow integration, and selected full-stack features. We create screen free books, magazines, and activities that blend early learning with cultural roots. Alongside this, we are building Occibo, a modern platform for authors and publishers. • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using TypeScript and Node.js • Participate in migrating applications and services from on-premises infrastructure to AWS • Build and maintain serverless solutions following cloud-native best practices • Implement integrations and processing workflows for accounting, tax, payments, and transaction data • Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and Engineering to deliver high-quality features • Write and maintain automated and unit tests (Jest) • Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices and maintainable design • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance, reliability, and security • Ensure traceability and auditability across business processes and generate accounting/tax files.

• The Backend Engineer is responsible for the system to work behind the scenes. • The role is to integrate the application with all required systems and services and provide clean and easy-to-use API for the frontend part of the system. • Although the work is usually hidden from the user, the Backend Engineer bears the full responsibility for the application functionality, performance and scalability. • The Backend Engineer knows how to write clean modern APIs, integrate with legacy systems and work with databases • Design and develop the business logic and backend systems of the product • Work closely with frontend developers to design and develop functional, performing and complete APIs • Decipher existing companies software systems and be able to hook in application to applicable data sources • Write both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasks • Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code • Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions
