Role Description 80,000 Hours is a nonprofit that helps people find careers tackling the world's most pressing problems. Our marketing team (Paid Marketing and Design, or PMAD) multiplies the impact of 80,000 Hours’ advice and resources by reaching our target audiences at scale. - Own our digital advertising activity — ad buying, creative production, A/B and message testing, building audiences, reporting on campaigns. - Location: Open to remote, London preferred. - Type of role: Full time - Salary: Depends on skills, experience and location, with indicative ranges of £67,500–100,800. Qualifications - Taste and judgment: Ability to model audience perceptions and articulate messaging strategies. - Clear-eyed interrogation of results: Demand for clarity in results and their implications. - Ambition: Deliver on tasks while exploring additional opportunities for impact. - Open communication: Clear writing and engagement with team feedback. - Flexibility and willingness to learn quickly: Excitement for new opportunities and adaptability. - Excellent judgment under uncertainty: Resourcefulness and analytical thinking in ambiguous situations. - Excitement about 80,000 Hours' mission: Willingness to deepen understanding of effective altruism and related topics. Requirements - Producing and/or marketing a large, engaged YouTube channel or Substack. - Recent graduate with experience in marketing, outreach, or communications. - Digital marketing experience, especially in performance marketing. - Communications professional for a nonprofit or public-facing service. - Experience in early-stage start-ups with brand and messaging strategy development. - Product management experience, particularly in user acquisition. - Operations professional with user feedback experience. - Designer or copywriter with user research experience.
