OSP Design Engineer
Fiberco
• Project preparation of FTTX Networks from design through closeout • Design and implementation of OSP facilities • Quality Control FTTX and MDU Designs • Development of construction and cost estimates primarily for the outside plant • Ensure that all FTTH designs fall within predetermined parameters
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma and/or College Degree
- 5+ Years of experience in Outside Plant Engineering
- Comprehensive understanding of FTTH network architectures
- Strong knowledge of MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) design principles
- Familiar with feeder and distribution routes, splicing requirements, fiber placement, and permitting considerations
- Working knowledge of OSP Facilities Construction and application standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good understanding of Right-Of-Way acquisitions and applicable laws
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Google Earth, QGIS, and AutoCAD

• Design and develop high-speed EVK hardware to support optical validation of multiple DSP products for data-center connectivity • Review and drive high-quality schematics with attention to signal integrity, power integrity, and manufacturability • Work closely with PCB layout engineers to ensure compliance with high-speed design best practices • Plan and execute board builds, including component selection, procurement coordination, and build readiness • Lead hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, TDRs, and related measurement tools
• Manage and lead a team of System Design Engineers and System Designers • Monitor the performance and quality levels of project designs • Develop ZBeta engineering and technical consulting tools and processes • Create, edit, review, and proof ZBeta design and engineering drawings package components • Participate in project technical architectural design and coordination efforts • Conduct technical studies for cable distance, voltage drop, and power requirements • Develop, manage, and maintain engineering standards and documentation formats • Monitor project performance commitments and deliverables • Guide and mentor System Design Engineers and System Designer staff
