Job Description

OSP Design Engineer

Fiberco

• Project preparation of FTTX Networks from design through closeout • Design and implementation of OSP facilities • Quality Control FTTX and MDU Designs • Development of construction and cost estimates primarily for the outside plant • Ensure that all FTTH designs fall within predetermined parameters

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or College Degree
  • 5+ Years of experience in Outside Plant Engineering
  • Comprehensive understanding of FTTH network architectures
  • Strong knowledge of MDU (Multi-Dwelling Unit) design principles
  • Familiar with feeder and distribution routes, splicing requirements, fiber placement, and permitting considerations
  • Working knowledge of OSP Facilities Construction and application standards
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of Right-Of-Way acquisitions and applicable laws
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Google Earth, QGIS, and AutoCAD
