Job Description

Senior Architect

Switch

• Lead architectural design efforts for large-scale and mission-critical data center facilities. • Oversee and review consultant deliverables to ensure compliance with Switch standards and performance requirements. • Support data center master planning and site planning activities. • Drive development and evolution of architectural standards, design processes, and equipment qualification criteria. • Identify and implement design improvements that enhance cost, speed-to-market, and quality. • Collaborate with internal engineering teams, construction, utilities, vendors, AHJs, and external consultants. • Review and issue RFPs for architectural consultants and design partners. • Participate in construction support activities including design clarification and field coordination. • Lead technical presentations and contribute to written technical documentation. • Identify and mitigate architectural risks throughout project lifecycle.

Job Requirements

  • Required Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture.
  • 8+ years of experience designing large-scale commercial or mission-critical facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural systems, building codes, and site planning.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience managing external design consultants across all project phases.
  • Experience issuing and reviewing RFPs and consultant deliverables.
  • Experience coordinating with AHJs, utilities, and cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Preferred NCARB certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in data center or mission-critical infrastructure development.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as LEED, BREEAM, or CASBEE.
  • Experience delivering technical presentations and authoring technical documentation.
