Director of Strategic Consulting Our Story Able was born as a product development and engineering hub for a family office of early stage companies. We worked across a portfolio of investment companies to accelerate products to market. As we grew, we began to work with partners (we call our clients ‘partners’) outside the family office. Our partner portfolio became broader and more diverse, working with larger, more established companies across industries. We built and shipped dozens of products, from zero to ones, to new product introductions for established companies. As we established ourselves as a product development firm, we worked tirelessly to ensure that our development practices – from product inception through deployment – were the fastest, highest quality, and most progressive. In the past several years, AI has introduced a whole new layer of opportunity for how to best build products. Through this period, we have invested heavily to identify how best to implement AI into the SDLC to power our teams. The market has responded to this set of services and we have now emerged as a broader capability: AI-powered software development coupled with AI implementation consulting. We continue to build and deliver software, powered by AI, and we ladder that with strategic AI consulting services. Our growth hypothesis is built around a simple truth: the power of AI technology is growing faster than companies can adopt it. We help companies implement new technologies and practices into their organizations, to drive growth, deliver efficiency, and create competitive advantage. About the Role This is a new role for Able, backfilling a slightly different executive role that was more Product Management oriented. The catalyst for the reorientation of this role is that our partner relationships are becoming more strategically complex, in two primary ways: Implementing AI into our partner companies is inherently a bespoke exercise. We operate with established frameworks, tools, and methodologies, but identifying the opportunities for deploying these – and navigating partner executive buying behaviors – requires a specific skillset. Our on-going software development partnerships are becoming increasingly complex, as the systems we are building become more sophisticated in terms of data, architecture, and stakeholder management. What we’re looking for The ideal candidate will have built a career in consulting and professional services team and client development. They will have a track record of building teams to deliver business critical solutions to clients. They will be comfortable working with client executives on strategic business challenges. Specifically: Fluency with software development lifecycle; Experience in a leadership commercial role, shepherding teams building and deploying software Experience building and leading teams implementing AI into companies to drive performance and competitive advantage. Experience navigating client environments to identify opportunities for AI implementation, and an ability to shape solutions that drive forecastable value. Experience nurturing client relationships to add new service lines and increase the value created. Proven track record of growing portfolios above $10M in annual revenue. Commercial acumen to shape deals to deliver mutual benefit to the client and professional services employer. Experience nurturing a group of consultants to develop their craft, while they serve the needs of the business. Experience being a part of a leadership team in a fast-growing and adaptive environment. Preferred qualities Experience working with Private Equity and midmarket executives. Experience working with a global team. Your day-to-day With our partners, you will have two primary areas of responsibility: Managing, nurturing, and growing a portfolio of client partnerships. This includes: Steering the partnership to ensure high level and consistent value creation Partner development strategy to define a vision for value creation and growth, and work with the team and partner to execute toward mutual success Overseeing a team of consultants who are working day to day with our partners Financial management of our partnerships on topline revenue specifically: Forecasting and revenue recognition Working with inbound prospects – primarily referrals from existing partners and associates – to shape deals, position Able services, and close new project opportunities (at which point the partnership will move into #1 above). Within Able, you will also have two primary areas of responsibility: You will be a part of Able’s Executive Leadership team. This team of five is steering and shaping Able as we continue to grow and evolve. You will be asked to be both creative in bringing new ideas to help us improve, and executional in leading initiatives to help our company expand our capabilities and refine our processes. You will oversee our Strategic Consulting practice. Given that this is a new department, you will be responsible for shaping the vision for the team, and working with the rest of ELT to ensure symmetry with other disciplines. You will also grow and nurture a team of consultants, including career growth definition, and skills development and training. This position is 100% remote within the United States. You must be authorized to work in the United States. Travel within the US may be required for this role. The annual base salary range for this position is $200k-220k. Able's Values Put People First : We're caring, open, and encouraging. We respect the richness that we each bring into our work. Imagine Better: We are optimistic in our outlook, as well as creative and proactive to deliver the highest quality. Expect Excellence: We commit to each other to always strive to be our best. Simplify to Solve: We create better outcomes by reducing complexity. We are all Builders: We are motivated and empowered to help build Able, and our partner's businesses. One Able. Many Voices : Our unity is our strength. Our diversity is our energy . Let’s build together.
