Role Description We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer to join the team to drive the definition, creation and delivery of 1LMX PLE solutions to the LM workforce through direct engagement with Programs and stakeholders. This role focuses on the full solution from architecture through deployment: - Solution architecture - Requirements - Process and solution development - Requirement verification/evaluation and test - Deployment across the model-based environment Responsibilities include: - Assessing the current state of Product Line Engineering in RMS programs (people, process, tools) through direct Program engagement; identifying gaps, use cases, improvement opportunities to mature the PLE discipline. - Building business cases, project plans, and cost estimation for 1LMX investment proposals. - Serving as 1LMX RMS Liaison to LOB eCoP, LOB PLE Capability Champions, System Engineering Factory (formerly SEEC), and cross-BA PLE leaders. - Creating & maintaining solution documentation: architectural diagrams, requirements, process flows, test procedures, implementation guides, adoption playbooks, best-practice manuals, and knowledge-base articles. - Training & enabling stakeholders on solution architecture, configuration, and operation. Qualifications - 8+ years experience of hands-on PLE experience supporting the engineering lifecycle. - Tool proficiency – experience with Variation Management tools (e.g. Pure Variants); familiarity with System Modeling tools (e.g. Cameo, Rhapsody), Requirements Management (e.g. DOORS), IBM ELM environment. - Knowledge of Product Line Engineering standards and processes (e.g. ISO/IEC 26550). - Proven ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines, including systems engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, and testing. - Demonstrated success delivering complex solutions; model-based System Architectures, including definition of structure, behavior, interfaces, and data flows. - Strong skill in translating stakeholder needs into coherent system architectures. - Excellent communication skills; capable of presenting complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Requirements - Respective experience in systems architecture or model-based systems engineering (MBSE), with a focus on digital transformation (capabilities, process, tools) or large-scale business change initiatives. - Background in enterprise or system of systems design and integration. - Ability to convert requirements and needs into conceptual processes that operate within limitations of tools, LM command media and existing LM processes. - Familiarity with program performance requirements and metrics. - Certification or formal training in PLE. - Current LM Systems Architect certification - Qualified level or higher. - Knowledge of model‑based architecture frameworks (DoDAF, MODAF, UAF). - Test planning and execution experience. - Experience authoring playbooks, training guides, or instructional materials. - Experience with Agile/digital methodologies and DevOps practices.
