Job Description

Electrical Design Engineer, AI Factory Deployment

NVIDIA

• Collaborate with product owners and technical leads to identify and collect requirements for next-generation data centers. • Support the global build standards for data center power systems, partnering with internal teams to develop execution strategies and lifecycle management. • Adapt DSX and electrical system reference builds to AI Factory deployments. • Conduct technical evaluations from site selection through site turnover, including contractor selection, bid package development, build review, RFI response, submittal reviews, and commissioning support. • Provide technical support for construction and commissioning issues, working with internal and third-party teams to ensure flawless development and product lifecycle management. • Standardize electrical engineering quality approval, process control, product evaluation, vendor proposals, and automated testing procedures.

Job Requirements

  • BS and/or MS in Electrical Engineering with a PE License or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of professional experience in data center build or construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical power paths from utility distribution, including high, medium, and low voltage systems for IT and Mechanical to the rack.
  • Expertise in power distribution for UPS, Generators, Floor PDUs, RPPs, Busway, and power supplies/power shelves, Chillers, Cooling Towers, CRAC, CRAH.
  • Understanding of electrical build and operational changes with high power rack densities and expert knowledge of short circuit coordination and arc flash studies.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical, controls, life safety, and IT Networking systems associated with critical environments.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with experience in driving root cause analysis in high pressure environments.
  • Experience with Level 1-5 commissioning and direct-to-chip liquid cooling technologies.
  • Solid grasp of Sequence of Operations (SOO) for electrical system control.
