Software Development Engineer 2

• Provide direct Customer Advocacy support by conducting hands-on investigations of reported device malfunctions. • Perform failure analysis and work with software engineers to determine root causes. • Collaborate and communicate with interdepartmental groups—including Regulatory, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Process Engineering—to provide documentation and operational support for device malfunction issues. • Design, improve, and implement complaint investigation processes. • Understand the technical architecture of internally developed applications. • Utilize structured problem‑solving and drive engineering studies using standardized methodologies and statistical data analysis. • Ensure documentation is updated to reflect changes made to a process or product. • Track failures or enhancement requests.

Job Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 0-2 years related experience or Master’s degree and 0-2 years’ equivalent experience.
  • Your experience applying technical principles and using structured problem-solving methods to understand root cause failure modes.
  • Your use of analytical tools and procedures.
  • Your experience working in a highly regulated environment such as a medical device.
  • You possess a basic understanding of the Quality Systems Regulations 21CFR Part 820 and international quality systems and medical device standards including ISO 13485.
  • Your flexibility in a fast-changing environment and ability to prioritize projects while maintaining timelines.
