Learning Management System Administrator

• Own all aspects of LMS administration including user management, roles and permissions, integrations, and platform settings • Manage system upgrades, releases, and patches in coordination with vendors • Monitor system performance, uptime, and data integrity; proactively resolve issues • Maintain clear documentation of system configurations and processes • Manage third-party integrations and single sign-on (SSO) connections • Serve as the escalation point for complex LMS-related issues • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to enrollment, grading, access, and integrations • Collaborate with vendors to resolve bugs and system issues • Maintain a knowledge base of solutions and FAQs • Partner with instructional and learning teams on course design and platform capabilities • Support development of scalable course templates and structures • Configure and launch courses, programs, and learning pathways • Translate instructional requirements into LMS functionality • Recommend tools and features to enhance the learner and instructor experience • Deliver training for faculty, staff, and administrators on LMS best practices • Create user guides and documentation for different audiences • Promote platform adoption and increase awareness of LMS capabilities • Generate and analyze LMS reports and learning analytics • Maintain accurate enrollment records and support compliance reporting
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of LMS administration or similar ed-tech platform experience
- Hands-on experience with a major LMS (Canvas strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of LMS architecture (courses, roles, permissions, integrations)
- Experience supporting technical systems in a structured IT environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
