Job Description
Systems Administrator
Honor
Role Description We’re hiring a modern Systems Administrator to support and scale a fast-paced, remote-first workforce. This role goes beyond traditional IT support—combining Mac administration, SaaS ownership, automation, and the effective use of emerging AI and agentic technologies. You’ll operate in a Mac-first environment and play a key role in evolving IT from a reactive support function into a proactive, systems-driven, and automation-first discipline. You will leverage AI-assisted tooling, scripting, and agentic workflows to improve efficiency, reduce toil, and deliver measurable impact across the organization. About the Team You’ll be joining a small, tight-knit team (4 people including you) that supports a fast-moving remote organization. Teamwork and collaboration are important - we have a daily 15 min video standup and we communicate constantly in Slack. You’ll have lots of opportunities to make an impact whether it’s being a SME in one of our critical applications (Google, Slack, JAMF, etc), managing a project, automating a process, or providing amazing support to our HQ users. As a Systems Admin at Honor, you will - Core IT & Systems Ownership - Provide end-user support across macOS, Windows, and SaaS platforms, specifically Slack and Google Workspace. - Manage onboarding and offboarding, including device provisioning, shipping logistics, and access lifecycle management. - Administer macOS fleet using JAMF (or similar MDM) and continuously improve device management practices. - Own and maintain core SaaS systems, permissions, and integrations. - Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues. - Automation & AI-Driven IT Operations - Design and implement automation to eliminate repetitive IT tasks and improve operational efficiency. - Leverage modern scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) and low-code/no-code tools to streamline workflows. - Utilize AI-assisted and agentic tooling (e.g., copilots, workflow agents) to: - Accelerate troubleshooting and root cause analysis. - Automate support workflows and ticket resolution. - Improve documentation generation and knowledge sharing. - Identify opportunities where AI can materially improve IT operations and implement solutions end-to-end. - Systems Thinking & Continuous Improvement - Proactively identify inefficiencies and scale IT processes to support company growth. - Build and maintain clear, high-quality documentation and internal knowledge bases. - Partner with Security, Engineering, and People teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions. - Evaluate and introduce new tools that improve employee experience and IT effectiveness. Qualifications - 4–7+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or endpoint/SaaS engineering roles. - Strong experience managing macOS environments at scale (100+ endpoints preferred) using JAMF or similar MDM. - Proven ownership of SaaS administration (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack), including access lifecycle, permissions, and integrations. - Solid troubleshooting skills across endpoints, SaaS platforms, identity systems, and basic networking. - Demonstrated experience automating IT workflows (e.g., onboarding/offboarding, ticket reduction) using AI Assisted tools. - Systems-oriented mindset with a track record of building scalable solutions and owning critical IT systems or domains. Nice to Have - JAMF certifications or advanced Mac administration expertise. - Experience with Google Workspace and Slack administration. - Experience in high-growth or startup environments. - Exposure to API integrations and building internal tools. - Experience experimenting with or deploying AI/agent-based workflows in IT or operations context. How This Role is Evolving This is not a traditional Systems Administrator role. Success in this position means: - Moving from reactive support to proactive, automated systems. - Leveraging AI and agentic tools as force multipliers. - Continuously identifying opportunities to scale yourself and the IT function through technology. Salary and Benefits The annual base salary range for this role is $80,100 - $89,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. - Base pay is just one part of our total rewards program. - Honor offers equity and 401K with up to a 4% match. - We provide medical, dental and vision coverage including a zero cost plan for employees. - Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Life Insurance are fully employer paid with a voluntary additional Life Insurance option. - We offer a generous time off program, Employee Assistance Program.
