To achieve this, we need great people, who share in our values.  As an Azure DevOps Engineer, you’ll design and manage DevOps pipelines across PaaS-based Azure environments, embedding secure-by-design principles and meeting industry and government security standards. You’ll work closely with development, operations, and security teams to deliver automated, secure, and scalable services, while supporting live and non-production platforms. The role includes 3rd-line support, break-fix and out-of-hours cover on a shift basis, platform optimisation, and providing hands-on technical support to development teams. Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include - Deploying, monitoring, maintaining and improving our Azure platform - Providing timely and efficient break-fix support to resolve system issues and minimise downtime in line with Service Level Agreements including out-of-hours. - Monitoring system performance, availability, and capacity, perform infrastructure as code optimisation to ensure cost efficiency and reliable service. - Providing 3rd line support for live Azure Platform services, addressing complex issues and coordinating with internal teams to maintain service uptime. - Delivering and supporting the customers’ infrastructure requirements for service enhancements and new projects. - Leveraging deep expertise in Microsoft Azure’s IaaS, PaaS and SaaS offerings to design, implement, and managing cloud-based solutions that align with business and technical needs. - Designing, building, and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with design partners, enabling faster, more reliable software releases. - Implementing best practices for version control, continuous integration, and code review processes. - Using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or terraform to provision and manage Azure cloud resources. Ensure consistent, secure, and reproducible infrastructure deployments. - Implementing security best practices and align infrastructure with compliance frameworks such as the Azure Security Benchmark, CIS benchmark, NIST, NCSC. - Configuring real-time monitoring and alerting within Azure to gain insights into application performance and system health. Set up proactive alerts to respond to any incidents and anomalies promptly. - Fostering strong relationships with software development, testing, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices. You may be required to undertake other duties assigned by your line manager as appropriate

• Ensure we meet our customers' Service Level Agreements, and respond to incidents in a timely and professional manner • Proactively monitor production environments to ensure scalability, availability, and security • Improve the alignment of service performance to customers and co-workers by reducing or eliminating manual and repetitive tasks, reducing bottlenecks and inefficiencies from services • Create, deliver, and manage business critical services that are used 24/7 by customers and co-workers • Work closely with Development and DevOps teams to give them tools for their job and support the application release process • Be involved in designing, building, and scaling our global product platform

• Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions that align with engineering standards and support business needs. • Design, implement, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters in on-premises (physical and virtualised) environments. • Take ownership of systems engineering projects related to OpenShift infrastructure. • Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and optimize deployment and release workflows. • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using OpenShift and associated DevOps tools. • Automate operational and deployment tasks using Ansible and other scripting tools. • Perform patching and upgrades of OpenShift clusters, ArgoCD, GitLab CI, and related components in compliance with change-management procedures. • Design, implement, and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and redundancy strategies. • Participate in on-call/standby rotation to support critical platform and infrastructure services and ensure service continuity. • Support daily operations including trend analysis, root cause analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of platform issues to ensure high availability and reliability. • Implement and enforce security best practices, including RBAC, vulnerability management, and compliance controls. • Improve alerting, monitoring, and observability capabilities across OpenShift and related systems. • Produce and maintain up-to-date documentation, including architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and runbooks. • Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring, and training to colleagues on OpenShift, GitLab, and related infrastructure technologies.
