Job Description The Senior Network Engineer (Remote Solutions) is responsible for developing and evaluating remote site solutions throughout Humana and its subsidiaries. This role prepares analyses of short-term and long-term capacity requirements for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling. It involves conducting SDWAN network design and testing, as well as feasibility and cost studies. The engineer develops standard solutions and establishes the required sequence of network activities. Site growth and expansion evaluations are conducted to determine the impact on remote services. The Senior Network Engineer actively participates in departmental strategy and makes decisions on moderately complex to highly complex technical issues related to project components. Work is performed independently, with considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. The position requires participation in on-call and implementation duties during nights and weekends, as needed. Humana seeks a Senior Network Engineer who will deliver solutions for multi-platform network connectivity. This critical role within Humana’s IT organization encompasses engineering and design, planning, implementation, and the establishment of operational and maintenance programs to deliver best-in-class, next-generation SDWAN and remote site infrastructure. Responsibilities include optimizing all aspects of the remote network ecosystem, such as performance, resiliency, availability, resource utilization, and innovation. Additionally, this position provides cloud network design, engineering, and administrative support for both physical and virtual networking devices within multi-platform environments. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for leveraging highly available networking technologies in a heterogeneous environment. The scope will include the following areas of concentration: - Network engineering and implementation expertise supporting multiple software defined network overlay technologies; Planning, designing, and deploying new network infrastructure and connectivity for complex environments. - Overseeing and performing administration, configuration, and monitoring of all network equipment & cloud resources (switches, routers, firewalls, Expressroute Gateways, User Defined Route tables, etc.). - Support the elimination of existing datacenter dependencies to enable cloud/fastest-path access (i.e. VPN, Web Proxy, etc...) - Connectivity solutions for supporting a hybrid cloud strategy; - WAN circuit topology and telco/carrier technical integration.
