(Job #548788) Library Services Specialist II, Access Services Evening Operations Coordinator (part-time), part-time Salary Range: $1,659/month (Step 1) - $2,416/month (Step 20), Anticipated part-time Hiring Salary: $1,659/month (Step 1). Final salary placement is commensurate with experience, internal equity, and budget considerations. This is a part-time (anticipated 20 hours/week), benefited, non-exempt, 10/12 pay plan (work 10 months of the year with pay and benefits over 12 months) permanent position, with a one-year probationary period in the Library. The anticipated months off are mid-June to mid- August. This position comes with a premium benefits package that includes outstanding vacation, medical, dental, and vision plans, life insurance, voluntary pre-tax health and dependent care reimbursement accounts, a fee waiver education program, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), and 15 paid holidays per year.  Position Summary: The Access Services Evening Operations Coordinator provides coordination of library operations and services to students and faculty during evening hours (until closing) and on Sundays. This position coordinates Student Assistant activities, the Front Desk/Checkout Desk, and coordinates library services. Key Responsibilities: Student Coordination - 60% Assists the Access Services Coordinator & Student Lead with the hiring, training, scheduling, directing, and coordination of payroll for student assistants in Access Services, including, assigning, monitoring, and managing student assistant special projects. Assists the Access Services & Student Lead with Access Services unit workflow and daily Checkout Desk schedule with Library staff and student assistants. Assists the Library Access Services & Student Lead with the student assistant training program, including maintaining customer service handbook and guidelines. Access Services Functions - 35% Works collaboratively with Access Services and Library personnel to provide effective library services. Supports other Access Services functions, including: library event coordination, marketing, and planning; collection maintenance operations, including shifting, shelf-reading, inventory, labeling, and signage projects; technical support and training for digital media equipment at the Checkout Desk; collaborative development of policy, procedures, and workflows; end-of-year statistical reports for Access Services; and enforcement of library policies and procedures. Provides outstanding customer service to all patrons, including answering questions at the front desk during business hours, ID production, basic information services utilizing the Cal Poly Humboldt Library Catalog, OneSearch, databases, library guides, and library collections. Uses Alma to troubleshoot and resolve patron-related circulation tasks such as renewals, placing holds, searches, and patron record updates. Participates in planning and developing unit goals and objectives utilizing knowledge of operations, policies, and best practices. Collaborates with appropriate library and university personnel to troubleshoot and resolve customer service issues, mitigate unusual occurrences, and support emergency situations. Closes the Library Sunday through Thursday when classes are in session. During academic breaks, work schedule may change to Monday - Friday with earlier closing hours. Supports extended hours as directed and provides backup staffing during evenings, weekends, absences, or busy periods.
