• Participates in project scoping, scheduling and costing for proposal preparation of Structural Discipline work. • Manages the day-to-day project activities seeing that responsibilities are assigned, and the execution of tasks are begun and completed according to schedule including inter-discipline coordination and teamwork. • Achieves project performance objectives including structural quality, budgets, and schedules while staying within the contractual scope of the project. • Prepares and modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, studies and designs and evaluates and recommends change orders for projects. • Serves as technical liaison with clients on project efforts and coordinates technical efforts within discipline areas. • Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing and scheduling of construction activities. • Conducts construction site visits to monitor progress and compliance with construction documents. • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. • Contacts vendors, regulatory agencies, and sub-consultants to obtain information, guidance and requirements. • Adheres to company standards for quality assurance and quality control. • Mentor and train junior level engineers and designers. • Performs the design of structures in accordance with design codes and standards published by ICC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.

Role Description RK&K is currently hiring Structural Project Engineers to join our growing team. As a member of our Structures team at RK&K you will play a pivotal role in the design and analysis of transportation structures. This role may be performed remotely or from one of our office locations. Candidates based in approved U.S. locations are encouraged to apply. - Utilize expertise in structural engineering principles to design bridge structures that meet project requirements and adhere to regulatory standards. - Perform structural analyses utilizing industry-standard software tools such as MicroStation, Leap Bridge Concrete, AASHTOWare BrR, Open Bridge Designer, or similar programs. - Develop detailed design drawings for construction. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage bridge projects from inception through completion. - Coordinate with contractors and regulatory agencies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. - Maintain rigorous standards of quality and compliance with relevant codes and standards throughout the design and construction process. - Conduct thorough reviews of design calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and safety. - Cultivate strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs, communicating project progress effectively, and providing innovative solutions to address their challenges and requirements. Qualifications - Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on bridge design and transportation projects. - Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on Structures. - Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain within 6 months. - Familiarity with applying industry standards including local DOT Standards, AASHTO, LRFD, etc. - Adhere to strict QA/QC requirements. - Previous experience working with DOT, local municipalities and counties. Preferred Skills and Experience - Master's degree in civil engineering. - Experience with new and rehabilitated bridges, retaining walls, and other structures. - Experience coordinating or participating with the Design Team and Contractor during project execution. Title: Civil Engineer - Part Time Location: Washington, DC, United States Hybrid Job Description: The Leidos National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) Program is looking for a part-time Civil Engineer to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Mobile Asset Deployment Center. This is a hybrid position with telecommuting permitted at 90% currently, however the position is based in Washington D.C. and may require reporting to FAA HQ periodically. Business travel is estimated at 25%. Estimated per week: 29 hours per week (75% PT) This task order is mission-critical to the safety and continuity of the National Airspace System (NAS). It provides engineering, program management, and technical support for the Mobile Asset Sustainment Program, including the planning, design, construction support, integration, and modernization of Mobile Air Traffic Control Towers, MTRACONs, Deployment Centers, and related mobile assets. The effort ensures timely replacement and technology refresh of aging mobile facilities, supports construction and integration activities such as the Greensboro Mobile Asset Deployment Center, and enables reliable deployment of mobile air traffic services during emergencies, maintenance outages, and major events, thereby directly safeguarding NAS operations.
