The Contracts Paralegal supports the legal and business operations teams by managing contract workflows, assisting in the preparation and review of agreements, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of contractual relationships with school districts, higher education institutions, technology partners, and publishing collaborators. Position Information: This is a regular, full-time position, reporting to the Vice President, Statewide Initiatives & Compliance. Compensation: Base pay is anticipated to be between $30.00 and $34.27 per hour. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions. Location: In this US-based position your location will be in our office in Tempe, AZ. Please expect to be onsite from 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday Arizona local time. Very occasional flexibility may be offered. In this role you'll have the opportunity to: - Draft, review, and revise standard agreements, including but not limited to NDAs, vendor contracts/documents, licensing agreements, and service-level agreements. - Support contract negotiations by preparing summaries, tracking revisions, and coordinating with internal stakeholders. - Maintain and organize the contract workflow/lifecycle system, ensuring timely updates, renewals, and archival of documents. - Monitor contract compliance and alert relevant teams to key dates, obligations, and risks. - Assist with due diligence and documentation for strategic partnerships, grants, and procurement processes. - Prepare reports and dashboards related to contract status, volume, and performance metrics. - Support internal audits and respond to inquiries related to contract terms and documentation. - Manage production of print RFPs, original signatures, and notary for customer contracts and agreements. - Other duties as required. Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include: - Associate's degree in paralegal studies and at least 3 years of experience in contracts or legal support role in the education, publishing, or technology industries; or an acceptable combination of education and experience. - Paralegal certification is preferred (e.g., NALA, NFPA). - Experience with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. - Strong understanding of contract law, intellectual property, and data privacy regulations in educational technology and publishing. - Proficiency in contract management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. - Familiarity with grant agreements, licensing models, and digital content distribution. - Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. - Excellent organizational and analytical skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
