Senior Developer, COBOL/.NET
IEBT Innovation
• Develop and maintain systems using COBOL DB2, COBOL CICS, and COBOL Batch, ensuring high performance and process stability • Work with sequential files and VSAM, ensuring data integrity and efficient read/write operations • Create and execute JCL (Job Control Language) to manage jobs and processes in a mainframe environment • Use Roscoe to edit and manipulate code and data on the mainframe • Design and execute test scenarios to validate code quality and ensure deliverables meet expectations • Implement code versioning practices using GIT • Develop headless COBOL programs and integrate them with APIs via z/OS Connect • Work with containers for development and testing of COBOL programs in a DevOps environment • Maintain high standards of quality, documentation, and code clarity — cleanliness, lack of redundancy, and standardization are non-negotiable
Job Requirements
- Strong experience with COBOL DB2, COBOL CICS, and COBOL Batch
- Knowledge of sequential file handling and VSAM
- Proficiency in JCL and experience using Roscoe in a mainframe environment
- Proven experience creating and executing test scenarios
- Experience with GIT and best practices for version control
- Familiarity with developing headless COBOL programs and integrating with APIs via z/OS Connect
- Knowledge of using containers for development and testing in a COBOL environment
- Previous experience in the banking sector
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of .NET — experience with z/OS navigation, console applications and web services will be highly valued
- Experience in DevOps and CI/CD environments

The Consumer Engagement team has been tasked with building a real-time interaction layer between car buyers and dealerships, processing millions of signals to create personalized, frictionless journeys, generating actionable leads for our customers You are an experienced, results-driven software engineer who thrives in building scalable and reliable backend systems. You have a strong foundation in designing and developing API-based services that can handle high traffic volumes while ensuring Observability, Performance, Security, Scalability and Maintainability. You understand software architecture and engineering best practices and are comfortable making technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term stability. You are also adept at using architecture patterns and iterative approaches to improve legacy services. You’re comfortable with both hands-on coding and designing backend services that meet evolving product requirements.
