About the Role The Escrow Assistant is responsible for managing key functions in the closing process for our home buying and selling customers, to ensure they have a seamless experience. From post-contract to close, you will be on the front lines of customer engagement where you’ll use strong problem-solving and process execution to drive outcomes. You will manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines, easily adhere to new processes quickly and stay on top of modifications as the business evolves. This is a full-time, fully remote position based in Texas, reporting directly to the Escrow Manager. What You’ll Do Here - Assist with pre-close and post-close document preparation and tasks in support of the Escrow and Closing teams: - Coordinate the collection of key documents and information from customers and external providers - Order payoffs, surveys, and home warranties - Prepare preliminary settlement statements and process lender title requests - Review contracts, commitments, and orders to ensure all information is correct in preparation for the closing - Identify issues pertaining to the contract and title commitment and be able to strategize how to cure - Assemble all necessary documents to prepare files and closing packages - Manage data and document storage: transmit, scan, and file into appropriate systems - Coordinate closing time and location with customers and notaries - Work within strict deadlines to ensure closings happen on time - Primarily work Texas closings, but be willing to learn and work files in other states as well. We'd Love to Hear From You if You Have - 3+ yrs of experience as an Escrow Assistant - Exceptional verbal and written customer service skills that help form positive relationships both internally and externally - Confidence in working with technologies (Google Suite) and specialty software (e.g. Qualia) - Good problem-solving skills and a drive to work proactively - Experience mastering complex processes and contributing with the understanding of your role within a larger series of processes - A team player mentality who subscribes to the concept of “Team Before Self” - Appreciation for the importance of following through with timely communication to ensure the best outcomes and experience for customers and internal stakeholders - Strong organizational skills and are exceptionally detail-oriented Orchard is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
