Kentro is hiring an experienced Systems Engineer MacOS Support to support our Endpoint Engineering Team our VA-ESOM- End Point Support and Operations Monitoring contract across the United States. The VA is responsible for providing comprehensive onsite and remote support to IT customers across all VA Administrations and special program offices, including direct support of over 340,000 VA employees and thousands of contractors who use government-furnished IT equipment and infrastructure. The VA provides support staff across 100+ CONUS and OCONUS locations, including difficult-to-accommodate locales, such as high cost of living or under-supported economic areas, where VA offices or facilities may be located and require onsite services. The Systems Engineer – MacOS Support provides technical assistance in maintaining and improving MacOS baselines and supporting MacOS lifecycle management across the enterprise environment. This role works closely with the MacOS Lead and the Endpoint Engineering Team to implement, troubleshoot, and optimize MacOS configurations, deployments, and automation processes. The Systems Engineer Support role contributes to the systems engineering process by assisting with requirements analysis, identifying deficiencies in hardware and software, and supporting system integration and technical management activities. This position is hands-on, client-focused, and essential to delivering high-quality MacOS endpoint support. Location: This position can be performed remotely within the United States and will support Eastern Time working hours. Responsibilities - Assist in implementing and maintaining MacOS baseline configurations - Support the MacOS device lifecycle, including provisioning, patching, upgrades, compliance, and decommissioning - Help execute automation and scripting tasks under guidance of the MacOS Lead (including BASH scripting and Apple development practices) - Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize system configurations in collaboration with the MacOS Lead and other team members - Assist with the transition of MacOS device management to Microsoft Intune and support ongoing EMM-related updates - Participate in testing, validation, and deployment of OS upgrades and new software across enterprise MacOS devices - Document technical procedures, baseline configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and continuity - Support reporting and status updates for MacOS engineering initiatives as requested by the MacOS Lead Team Coordination and Delivery Support - Collaborate with the MacOS Lead and Endpoint Engineering SMEs to complete assigned tasks and deliverables - Communicate status, risks, and issues in a timely manner to the Lead and Project Manager - Assist in coordinating tasks and workloads with other team members to ensure smooth operations - Participate in team meetings, technical reviews, and planning sessions to provide updates on assigned work Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) - 5+ years of relevant experience supporting MacOS environments, enterprise deployments, or IT systems engineering.
