You will be part of Telematics Development/ Engineering Team Bucharest/Romania inside the SBU Connectivity, reporting to the Team Leader HW Engineering or/and to Director Hardware Delivery What You Will Do - PCB design using Mentor Graphics tools. - Design of PCBs with multiple layers, considering the specifications and restrictions for routing high speed signals and interfaces (Video, Ethernet, LPDDR, USB,etc) and also for routing power planes and signals. - Signal and power integrity simulations based on current layout designs (using Harman agreed tools). - Release the final production files for PCBs. - Be in contact with PCB manufacturers and respond to their technical questions regarding PCB production process. - Development, test and verification of analog and digital functional blocks (e.g. power supplies, Audio blocks, MCU/SoC units) within complex hardware architectures under considering of quality, cost and suitability for series. - Support in design, creation and implementation of software and hardware for infotainment computer systems. - Creation of measurement reports and technical documentation. - Schematic entry and variant management. - Change Management in Teamcenter - Knowledge of commonly used interfaces in infotainment systems (PCIe, UART, TDM, Video-, I2C, I2S, USB) appreciated. - Realization of system designs, schematics and/or schematics integration of hardware applications in the range of medium to high complexity under consideration of Harman guidelines. - Global cooperation with other departments as Construction, Quality, Manufacturing and Software during the development process. - Maintenance support. - Perform technical measurements on customer site ( EMC, Thermal, functional). What You Need to Be Successful - Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or appropriate graduation or technician) - At least 5 years professional experience in complex HW PCB multi-layer designs in respect to PCB simulation, PCB layer stack, PCB routing as well the generation of PCB production data - Knowledge of tools for schematic/layout realization and simulation as well as Microsoft applications - Knowledge of Hardware Technology in automotive area - Good knowledge in spoken and written English - Creativity and analytical thinking - Good communication skills - Be able to clearly explain complex technical issues and justify technical decisions - Have the ability to work in close cooperation with a cross-functional team of professionals Bonus Points if You Have - Familiarity with Mentor Graphics ECAD System (Schematic Entry, Layout) and Simulation Tools as HFSS - At least 3 years professional experience in the HW development and verification of analog/digital applications and standalone functional units - Knowledge of the requirements inside the automotive area, especially for EMC - Knowledge of commonly used interfaces in telematic systems (PCIe, UART, Ethernet, I2C, I2S, SPI, USB …) appreciated What Makes You Eligible - Availability to work flexibly and on-demand both from the office and remotely. - Willingness to travel (up to 20% of time) depending of project needs. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business, logistics, or IT (equivalent years of experience may substitute for education). - 11+ years of relevant experience, including IT logistics with deployment support and experience in hardware lifecycle management, including procurement and requisitions. - Prior exposure to working with government contracts, policies, and regulatory standards. - Ability to manage resources under time-sensitive conditions and adapt to surge requirements. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance. - Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.
