Job Description

Data Engineer, GCP – Google Cloud Platform

SQLI

• Design, deploy and maintain robust data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, etc.). • Implement and automate data ingestion, processing and transformation pipelines using GCP tools and related technologies. • Ensure the performance, scalability and security of data infrastructures on GCP. • Work closely with internal teams to understand business requirements and deliver appropriate data solutions. • Provide technical support to development and data science teams. • Keep up to date with the latest trends and innovations on Google Cloud, particularly in data management and machine learning. • Implement processes to ensure data quality, integrity and security within the GCP infrastructure. • Use tools such as Terraform and Cloud Deployment Manager to automate GCP infrastructure management.

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of GCP technologies such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, etc.
  • Proven proficiency in Python for developing data pipelines, data analysis and data manipulation.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker for building dashboards and reports.
  • Strong understanding of SQL concepts and their practical implementation.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data and optimize query performance.
  • Understanding of distributed data architectures and real-time data processing concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication: ability to produce high-quality deliverables and reports.
  • Analytical mindset and continuous improvement orientation: ability to assess code and its impacts and to challenge existing solutions to improve them.
  • Ability to take a step back: capacity to evaluate issues objectively and propose improvement solutions.
  • Team player: ability to collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals.
  • Familiarity with Agile concepts (Scrum, Sprint Planning, Backlog, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and rigor in the design and implementation of data solutions.

(Quantity tracker, Submittal logs, RFI logs, etc.) • Assist with progress meetings, preparing agendas, meeting minutes, and follow-up action items.
