Senior Mainframe Storage Engineer
ITTConnect
• Manage and support mainframe operations, ensuring high availability and performance. • Provide consultancy and technical assistance for migration projects. • Implement and configure IBM storage solutions such as DFSMSrmm, DFSMShsm, and related advanced audit and reporting tools. • Assist with installation and configuration of IBM OMEGAMON for Storage and other monitoring tools. • Develop and maintain JCL scripts, REXX, and Assembler programs for automation and operational efficiency. • Utilize TSO and ISPF for system management and troubleshooting. • Collaborate with storage administrators to assess migration impacts and provide training/documentation. • Ensure compliance with system standards and best practices for SMP/E and z/OS environments.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years in mainframe operations, service, or support roles.
- Proficiency in TSO, ISPF, and JCL.
- Ability to write REXX and Assembler programs.
- Experience with DFSMSrmm and/or CA-1 Tape Management System.
- Hands-on experience with IBM tools such as: IBM OMEGAMON for Storage, IBM Advanced Audit and Reporting for DFSMShsm, IBM Advanced Catalog Management (ACM), IBM Advanced Allocation Management (AAM).
- Ability to migrate tools, including CA-1 to DFSMSrmm migration, CA FAVER to IBM Advanced Catalog Management migration, IBM Global Resource Serialization (GRS) migration, CA Allocate to IBM Advanced Allocation Management migration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and stakeholder interaction.
