AWS DevOps Engineer III – Professional Services Delivery
Rackspace Technology
• Automate deployments utilizing custom templates and modules for customer environments on AWS. • Architect AWS environment best practices and deployment methodologies. • Create automation tools and processes to improve day to day functions. • Educate customers on AWS and Rackspace best practices and architecture. • Ensure the control, integrity, and accessibility of the cloud environment for the enterprise Lead Workload/Workforce Management and Optimization related tasks. • Assist Rackers across the Cloud Function.
Job Requirements
- Experience: 5-10 yrs
- Skills: AWS Products & Services, Compute, Storage, Security, networking, Devops - Terraform/IaC, including CI/CD practices, Kubernetes.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
- Certifications: Associate level Certificates in AWS or professional level certificate.

• Develop components and assemblies using CATIA / 3DX. • Lead Class A surface refinement ensuring styling alignment and manufacturability. • Apply GD&T and conduct dimensional variation/tolerance studies. • Ensure compliance with VOC, regulatory, packaging, clearance, DFA/DFS requirements. • Support CAE reviews and incorporate validation feedback. • Perform feasibility for stamping, tooling, and manufacturing processes. • Ensure high craftsmanship standards: gap & flush, fit & finish. • Prepare and manage DFMEA, DVPR, SCCAF, and technical documentation. • Collaborate with suppliers, purchasing, and plant teams. • Manage design data, BOM, and releases in PLM. • Support prototype builds, timing milestones, and RFQ activities.
• 3D design of exterior lighting components using 3DX / CATIA. • Application of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and dimensional variation (DVA). • Development of optical components: LED, light guides, lenses, reflectors. • Support and execution of validation: photometry, thermal, vibration, IP/condensation. • Evaluation of fit & finish, packaging, feasibility, and tooling requirements. • Execution and documentation of DFMEA, DVPR, Interface Matrices, and PLM/BOM deliverables. • Technical collaboration with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams.
• Lead and participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of highly available and scalable infrastructure. • Monitor system health, performance metrics, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance. • Establish and track SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to measure and improve system reliability. • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation. • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, safe deployments. • Automate operational tasks and eliminate toil through scripting and tooling. • Lead incident response efforts, including on-call rotation, post-mortem analysis, and remediation. • Debug and resolve complex production issues across the entire stack. • Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to detect and prevent issues proactively. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers on reliability and infrastructure best practices. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Product to ensure reliable product delivery. • Lead the technical design of infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and business goals. • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in SRE, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure. • Propose and drive the adoption of best practices, tools, and processes to enhance system reliability and developer productivity. • Conduct chaos engineering experiments and disaster recovery drills to validate system resilience. • Implement and maintain security best practices across infrastructure and applications. • Manage secrets, access controls, and security monitoring systems. • Foster a collaborative environment within the engineering team and across departments. • Clearly communicate technical concepts and system health to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Work closely with engineering teams to define reliability requirements and ensure operational excellence.
