Compensation Range: Annual Salary: $79,930.00 - $107,900.00 Position Summary The Director of Curriculum drives the strategy behind curriculum development in the School of Health Professions and is responsible for the planning and management of curriculum development, including managing course catalog submissions, changes, and additions as well as proposing new programs of study, micro credentials, specializations, and certificates. This position works in tandem with the Director of Assessment and Accreditation to ensure course-level outcomes are met using data-driven decision-making as part of the role. In addition, this position works closely with faculty, staff, and administration to inform and track curriculum development projects, in collaboration with the Learning Experience team. As a proxy for the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Curriculum Director reviews final versions of courses and bears the critical responsibility of ensuring quality. In addition, the Director of Curriculum ensures curriculum changes follow school level governance processes and manages curriculum changes through the University governance process and the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) review process. Essential Functions: LEADERSHIP Provide strategic leadership in the ongoing planning and strategy for curriculum development and planning in the School, developing curriculum in alignment with the strategic vision for the University at-large. Serve as School-wide Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding curriculum development and point of contact for appropriate committees, internal departments, and external regulatory bodies as assigned. In collaboration with the Director of Assessment and Accreditation, mentor and guide faculty in their role in curriculum development which may include the creation of Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), Module Learning Outcomes (MLOs), Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), content management, etc. Collaborate with faculty to create continuity across the curriculum (e.g., scaffolding and consistency between courses in a program) as well as on content, rigor, and instructional strategies. Collaborate with the Director of Assessment and Accreditation to ensure appropriate programmatic assessment and accreditation standards are met. Work with other School, College or University level groups and committees to ensure alignment of curriculum content. CURRICULUM MANAGEMENT Manage course catalog submission and changes in coordination with the Manager of Academic Operations. Identify, coordinate, and track course maintenance. Track course feedback (program, faculty, students) for addressing revisions. Coordinate faculty (subject matter experts/SMEs) for curriculum development and revisions, in collaboration with academic program directors. Sends out and manages the contracts for the SMEs, including approval. Review final version of courses and ensure quality as a proxy for the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. Notify school staff and faculty of changes in course version and assignments. Address minor revisions to live courses or “hotfixes”. GOVERNANCE Ensure curriculum changes follow school level governance processes. Manage curriculum changes through the university governance process.
