Senior Electronics/Electrical Engineer – Components
XP Power
• Responsible for selection, qualification, application, failure analysis and documentation management of components, materials and chemicals • Classify and organize materials as an integral library • Create selection and qualification guidelines, standardize testing methods • Support materials-related subjects such as datasheet interpretation and failure analysis • Lead root cause analysis of component failures and develop mitigation plans • Evaluate supplier technical competency and conduct supplier selection • Standardize technical documents and optimize corresponding processes
Job Requirements
- Degree or above in Electronics/Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in design, sustaining, testing or application of electronic/electrical/mechanical parts and products
- Knowledge of electronic/electrical/mechanical parts and materials
- Capable of interpreting supplier’s datasheet
- Skilful in testing, qualification and characterization of components
- Conversant with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Experienced in engineering change management and process
- Good understanding of BOM, DMS, PLM/ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, etc.
- Proficient in English; desirable for Chinese or Vietnamese
- Experience in thermal management and environmental testing is a plus
- Experience in project management, quality & reliability control, supplier engagement is desirable
- Familiar with Microsoft 365 - Office tools, Teams, SharePoint, etc.

This position will have specific emphasis placed on IBR plant dynamic modeling for NERC PRC-029-1 compliance. - Conduct IBR Dynamic Modeling studies related to existing and future NERC reliability standards. - Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD and PSSE. - Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit, and dynamic. - Perform various compliance technical assessments on IBR facility rating, protection coordination, and ride-through assessment. - Process, generate, and maintain data as required for other engineering-related studies. - Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed. - Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives. - Identify training needs and present them to the Engineering Manager as needed. - Perform other duties as assigned.
