• Responsible for characterizing and calculating map errors using state-of-the-art geospatial analysis, specifically focusing on magnetic anomaly maps. • Perform detailed trade studies on regional effects, map quality, and flight profiles to determine their impact on navigation performance. • Work with the navigation and geophysics team to integrate geospatial insights into navigation algorithms.
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Geophysics, GIS, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a strong background in uncertainty quantification and spatial statistics.
- Available for a 6-month residency.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Exposure to magnetic or other potential-field data is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with git-based development and software development best practices.

What We Do Search public records and examine complex titles to determine legal condition of primarily commercial or industrial property title. Copy or summarize recorded documents which affect the condition of title to the property. Works independently and uses experience to examine title to real property, ranging in complexity, to determine status and establish chain of title. Builds base of experience with different types of property. Projects undertaken can range from simple parcels requiring a few hours of production time to commercial properties that may take days or even weeks to complete. This is a remote opportunity. As a Commercial Title Examiner at First American, you will play a vital role by working independently and using your experience to ensure large-scale real estate transactions close smoothly and securely. You will analyze public records, verify ownership, and identify potential title issues while collaborating with underwriters and clients. We will give you the tools, training, and support to thrive. What You’ll Do - Manage a variety of projects that range in complexity from single to multi-property commercial transactions where every detail matters. - Search, examine and connect data across counties and jurisdictions. Verify legal property descriptions, including reading, interpreting, and plotting. - Review and analyze public records such as leases, subleases, deeds, liens, and easements to determine ownership and any title-related restrictions. - Summarize findings and prepare title commitments and reports with precision and clarity. - Identify and resolve discrepancies or missing information through careful research and documentation. - Collaborate with underwriters and internal partners to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the title process. What You’ll Bring - At least 3 years of directly related commercial title insurance experience in title searching, examining, and writing commitments, preferably in Pennsylvania or the surrounding states. - Understand relevant legal and real estate terminology. - Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat/Pro, internet, property data platforms and the ability to learn company systems. - Excel at analyzing complex information and solving problems independently. - Highly organized and thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven, and paperless environment. - Clear and professional communication with a customer service mindset. - A high school diploma or equivalent.
