Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII-NNS), is seeking a QA Test Engineer that has functional/configuration/customization knowledge of the SAP software suite. The ideal candidate is technically minded, inquisitive, curious, detail oriented, quick-learning, and ultimately interested in becoming a functional expert and quality gate of software developed/delivered by our Windows agile team. In this role, you will join a team of IT professionals dedicated to designing and building information systems to support construction of some of the largest and most complex products in the world. Our IT systems process information across Engineering, Planning, Operations and Manufacturing. We are the sole designer and builder of U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers and one of two providers of U.S. Navy Submarines. The ideal candidate will work as a member of a highly productive and engaged agile team to review user stories, requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback for test considerations. Typical responsibilities include the following: • Creating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases • Estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating testing activities as part of the agile software development lifecycle • Designing, developing and executing re-useable and scalable automation scripts using UI based automation tools • Identifying, documenting, recording, and tracking defects/bugs and working with the internal and external teams to understand and resolve (NNS custom development and vendor introduced defects and bugs).
