Business Systems Analyst III – API, SQL

• Create, refine, and maintain the User Stories/Requirements for a project, map the user stories to features, develop epics and features, define the acceptance criteria, and partner with the Product Owner for user story traceability and refinement • Maintain, manage, and refine a prioritized backlog in partnership with the Product Owner • Adhere to Agile principles and philosophies (Scrum or Kanban, as applicable) in fulfillment of the role. • Mentor and guide other team members on Agile best practices and analysis techniques & tools. • Foundational understanding of API technologies and data flows to translate technical jargon between the Product Owner, QA analysts, developers and the stakeholders of the business so that all partners are working towards a common goal. • Utilizes advanced critical/analytical thinking skills to identify process gaps and potential project risks, then uses problem solving skills to brainstorm solutions with the team. • Document business processes, functional specifications, non-functional specifications, and technical specifications. • Perform detailed data mapping and data modeling, as well as create network topology diagrams, and process flow diagrams. • Ensure compliance with all the audit requirements of the company. • Leads research and analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support the product owner and stakeholders in the decision-making process. • Create complex SQL queries and help map the data elements as needed, collaborate with multiple stakeholders to elicit requirements and lead story estimation for data or application development projects. • Develop expertise in systems’ gap and impact analysis to eliminate product inefficiencies. • Remain up-to-date on current technology trends, software development life cycle methodologies and best practices. • Lead department initiatives with limited supervision. • Provide mentoring and training to junior team members. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Excellent understanding of the Agile methodologies.
- Additional certifications in Agile, Scrum, or DevOps strongly preferred.
- 5+ years’ writing complex SQL querying.
- 5-8 years of business analysis experience required.
- Demonstrate knowledge of APIs.
- Experience in the financial and card payment industry is a big plus
- 1+ years’ experience in data mapping
- 1+ years’ experience planning, facilitate UAT for projects and enhancements.
- Experience with Azure Development Ops (ADO) is a plus
- General knowledge of the following: Oracle, Microsoft SQL, API’s and .NET and/or MySQL, Java, and web based applications. (not a hands on coder)
- Practical knowledge of debit/credit card processing, financial systems, mobile solutions, high-availability systems, and data safe-keeping practices.
- Excellent understanding of the Agile/Lean methodologies
- The ability to perform detailed data mapping and data modeling, as well as create network topology diagrams, and process flow diagrams.

Mainframe Systems Analyst

• Support a mainframe environment for government agency, coordinating, executing, and reporting on backup and disaster recovery activities • Monitor Disaster Recovery Back-ups using DFHSM, DR/VFI, storage monitoring, file transfer support • Batch Scheduling and Monitoring using TWS, Abend Resolution, JCL Updates • Support Content Management (CA-View/Deliver, Systemware JHS) systems • Application Release Deployment and Installations • Perform daily backups of various mainframe regions • Monitors and controls job processing flows using scheduling tools (TWS and TDWC) in the z/OS, z/Linux, and UNIX environments • Serve as primary point of contact for researching making corrections to mainframe backup jobs • Provide regular reporting on production and UAT processing issues • Ensure that production and testing mainframe software release packages are installed correctly • Create and update dashboards to track the processing of various mainframe job cycles • Review mainframe batch jobs and claims processing for errors and help coordinate any corrections and necessary re-runs
