The Opportunity Reporting to the VP, Project Development the Project Development Manager will be pivotal in driving the execution and delivery of day-to-day operations of Peak's electric asset portfolio. You will lead the project initiation in the delivery system, defining the project calendar and work breakdown structure, and defining deliverable acceptance and reporting procedures. You will leverage your understanding of Independent Electricity Systems Operator (ISO) electricity markets, energy storage, and power systems to establish the processes to support the delivery of operational excellence develop and position Peak's electric asset portfolio. We're building something that will have a lasting, positive impact. Our new Project Development Manager, Energy Storage will: Deliver. You have excellent time management, prioritization, and project management skills to ensure operational performance targets and project milestones are met or exceeded. - Define and document RFPs and scope of work packages for 3rd party EPC firms. Participate in EPC selection and contract negotiation. - Conduct due diligence on potential projects, evaluate the suitability of identified sites and participate in due diligence review and analysis of various reports (i.e. environmental, geo-tech, etc.) - Define in advance the acceptance criteria for each project deliverable, works with the team to establish delivery dates for each deliverable, and oversee the review of client deliverables to ensure they meet all client acceptance criteria, securing sign-off on each deliverable as defined in the SOW Report. You will monitor and report on progress, methodically evaluate processes and systems to improve efficiency; and implement processes that provide transparency and tracking - Lead project status update meetings with management, utilities, EPCs, and finance counterparties, facilitating discussions with a detailed project plan and high-level status dashboard. - Manage the collection, organization and filing of all project documentation, both internally and for external third-party stakeholders and project financing needs - Review and manage EPC Contractor schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, EHS plans, and permit compliance Collaborate. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective operations that require input, buy-in, and execution across multiple departments, as well as customer and stakeholder communications. - Maintain and develop relations with Battery OEM and balance of plant vendors - Manage engagements with project stakeholders and act as a company representative for interactions with landowners, local governmental agencies, customers, contractors, equipment and materials suppliers, and other stakeholders - Coordinate activities of an internal team of project engineering, construction management, commissioning, procurement, asset management, legal, finance, and accounting staff, as well as deliverables of EPC Contractor, project stakeholders, and regulatory and permitting authorities Grow. You will proactively identify opportunities to improve operational performance, efficiency, and scalability and contribute to Peak Power’s electric asset portfolio growth. What you bring to Peak Power: The experience. - 5-7+ years of professional experience in a project development or related role - 3-5+ Years of Experience in developing and constructing behind and in front of the meter energy storage projects. Experience in wind & solar projects is an asset - Familiarity with battery storage design and technical standards as well as civil and structural technical knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skill - Project Management Institute PMP certification preferred - Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal - Excellent organizational skills demonstrated by clear and effective project plans and executive-level reporting that ensure timely action and decision-making in time-pressured scenarios. - Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) - Knowledge of NFPA 855 & UL 9540 - Proficiency in MS project and Office Suite The drive and curiosity. Role Description The Global Ecosystems Atlas is a collaborative initiative to create a comprehensive and standardised resource on the global distribution, condition and change of ecosystems. Phase 1 (2025–2026) is producing a globally harmonised ecosystem synthesis map aligned with the IUCN Global Ecosystem Typology (GET), integrating national and regional ecosystem classifications. As Phase 1 nears completion, a priority is transitioning the Atlas into a sustainable long-term operational phase, including maintaining technical integrity, expanding national data contributions, refining methodologies and establishing sustainable staffing and funding arrangements. In parallel, the initiative is beginning co-design of Phase 2, which will focus on methodologies and implementation pathways for estimating ecosystem condition and change over time. Duties and Responsibilities - Phase 1: Stewardship and Operational Sustainability - Lead development of the Phase 1 operating model for the Atlas synthesis map, including governance arrangements, workflows, update cycles and coordination with technical and country partners. - Define staffing, resourcing and financial requirements for sustaining operations and support development of funding proposals. - Oversee coordination of the synthesis stream or establish appropriate contractual arrangements to ensure technical integrity and continuity. - Lead engagement with governments and national institutions to support integration of national ecosystem maps into the Atlas through cross-referencing to the IUCN Global Ecosystem Typology. - Oversee validation of Atlas-generated maps with participating countries and ensure feedback informs iterative improvements. - Provide strategic supervision to the Country Engagement Specialist. - Institutional and Scientific Partnerships - Lead engagement with key scientific and practitioner partners (e.g. IUCN, WCS, TNC, Kew) to ensure methodological alignment and coordinated implementation of the Atlas. - Engage with Regional and Subregional Technical and Scientific Support Centres (TSSCs) under the Convention on Biological Diversity to strengthen capacity for cross-referencing national ecosystem maps to the IUCN typology. - Where resources allow, lead Ecosystem Mapping Accelerators to support countries in strengthening ecosystem mapping capacity. - Phase 2 Programme Development - Guide development of scientific workstreams and approaches for estimating ecosystem condition and change through the Phase 2 expert workshop series. - Ensure the Phase 2 design builds on lessons and partnerships from Phase 1 and oversee translation of workshop outcomes into an implementation-ready Phase 2 project document. - Strategic Representation and External Engagement - Represent the Global Ecosystems Atlas in scientific, policy and technical forums and serve as a spokesperson on programmatic and operational aspects of the initiative. - Support donor and partner engagement by providing technical and implementation leadership.
