The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for an OpenShift Virtualization and Infrastructure Architect to join us. In this role, you will design and guide implementations of Red Hat OpenShift infrastructure projects to include container and virtualization technologies. You won't be expected to know everything on day one, but your ability to learn new technology quickly will be essential. This is a remote based job that can be located anywhere in the United States, within close proximity to an airport. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. What you will do: - Deliver successful discovery, analysis and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape and influence the customer’s use cases and architecture design decisions. - Scope delivery projects and guiding customers through successful pilot and production deployments. - Design, create and delivery of content that enables the broader Red Hat organization to sell (presales), service (consulting) and support (GSS) our cloud solutions at scale. - Implement automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions with a focus on infrastructure concerns including networking, storage, virtualization, security, logging, monitoring, and high availability and system resilience - Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat’s services capabilities, promote repeatable customer engagements, and lower delivery risk. - Learn new technologies quickly, including container orchestration, container registries, container build strategies, cloud storage, and software-defined networks - Travel frequently (30-40 weeks per year) to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunications, and institutional customers. Here's how your skill set will evolve and what you'll learn during your first year in the role: At 2 months, be prepared to join a project team by acquiring the following: - Understanding of how to build production-ready container and virtualization platforms, integrated with existing enterprise systems - Knowledge of how to deploy source code into running, scalable containers and virtual machines in automated fashion at enterprise scale - Practical experience with our offerings Within 6 months, be ready to implement a routine container platform project by attaining the following: - Successful, collaborative delivery of customer requirements using Red Hat OpenShift - Knowledge of how a customer use case can be developed into a project plan and how those requirements align with Red Hat’s technologies - Understanding of how Red Hat’s technologies can transform software delivery (DevOps/GitOps) practices at large organizations Within 12 months, begin to demonstrate technical leadership in container platforms by accomplishing the following: - Successfully implementing complex, large-scale container platform solutions in challenging customer environments - Helping other consultants learn DevOps/GitOps paired with container technologies - Contributing lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos to our internal and external communities of practice - Applying new technologies, frameworks, or methodologies to container platforms The salary range for this position is $130,420.00 - $215,300.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications. Under the direction of the Director – Platform Technology and the Principal Platform Integration Engineer, this team member will support the direct execution and delivery of all technical aspects of Mayo Clinic Platform’s technology roadmap. The Senior Platform Engineer will also serve as a technical liaison with other functions within the enterprise. The position will be responsible for the following essential functions: - Applies the principles of well-architected frameworks to the design and deployment of key foundational functions within Mayo Clinic Platform. - Design, develop, and maintain healthcare interoperability solutions that enable the secure and efficient exchange of healthcare data between systems and applications. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, and translate them into technical specifications and architectural designs. - Implement robust and scalable backend solutions using Java and/or .NET, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with healthcare standards such as HL7 and FHIR. - Develop and maintain front-end applications using React to provide user-friendly interfaces for healthcare professionals and patients. - Integrate third-party healthcare systems, APIs, and data sources into our platform, ensuring seamless interoperability. - Work closely with cloud architects to deploy and manage healthcare solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Implement and maintain DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, to automate deployment and ensure high availability and performance of healthcare applications. - Collaborate with data engineers to manage and analyze healthcare data, extracting valuable insights to drive healthcare decision-making. - Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in healthcare interoperability, Java, .NET, React, and GCP. - Works closely with the product and solutions team to understand opportunities and assist with the integration to the platform as well as develop repeatable mechanisms such that single-use integrations are minimized. - Partners with the solutions and implementation/support team to design, develop and deploy management and support tooling for all aspects of the platform’s operations. This may include things like monitoring/surveillance tools, access and utilization logging. - Assists in the development and may oversee the Mayo Clinic Platform Technology team’s compliance with SLAs or OLAs in partnership with the implementation/services team. - Supports and advises the execution of the Mayo Clinic Platform Technical roadmap. - Acts as a mentor and coach for other technical team members within Mayo Clinic Platform, supporting technical growth and systems based thinking. - In collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Platform product team, defines and implements proper Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes in sync with Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC) processes.
