Solution Architect - Sales (EDU) Coastal seeks a Solution Architect (Education focus) supporting pre-sales as a critical part of our growth engine. This individual focuses on pre-signature activities, including structured discovery, thoughtful solution design, clear estimates, proposal development, and risk and assumption management. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across all aspects of the Higher Education industry and understands how Salesforce and related technologies drive measurable outcomes for these industries. This individual will play a key role in evolving how AI agents support the sales process by identifying high-value use cases, piloting narrow workflows, and establishing practical guardrails. Success requires strong critical thinking, effective communication, and a business-outcome orientation, as well as close partnership with Delivery to ensure solutions fit boundaries and mitigate risk. Role Responsibilities: - Lead discovery and scoping sessions, clarify objectives, metrics, constraints, and risks - Translate institutional goals into solution options across Education Cloud (EDA), Admissions Connect, and Student Success Hub. - Build clear level-of-effort estimates, staffing plans, timelines, and assumptions from discovery inputs and complexity drivers - Direct a deal-desk function to prepare proposals, SOW sections, assumptions, exclusions, and executive decks - Map pre-sales processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend realistic agent use that reduces cycle time and improves consistency - Maintain templates, playbooks, and reusable components to improve speed, margin, and win rate - Present solution and commercial narratives to executives and technical stakeholders - Align pricing, terms, and assumptions with Sales and Delivery, and ensure a clean, documented handoff into execution Experience/Skills Required: - 8+ years in pre-sales, solution architecture, or technical leadership in Salesforce consulting for Higher Ed or large K-12 districts - Strong background in solution design for Agentforce Education, EDA, Education solutions, Data Cloud, integrations, APIs, security, and identity - Demonstrated success shaping complex deals, building estimates, responding to RFPs, and writing SOWs - Experience reviewing and refining AI-assisted outputs with a structured approach to quality, compliance, and brand tone - Proven ability to lead cross-functional work, and manage concurrent pursuits - Excellent communication skills with executives, product owners, and engineers - Must have full-time permanent US work authorization Additional Preferred Experience/Skills: - Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience - Salesforce certifications, such as System Architect, Application Architect, and relevant Consultant certifications - Hands-on experience defining AI agents for "Student Concierge" use cases and academic advising automation. - Hands-on experience defining retrieval sources, prompt patterns, and review criteria for agent-assisted work - Track record improving pre-sales cycle time, accuracy, and margin through process redesign and automation Why Coastal, and what we offer: - Flexible working hours with an emphasis on a life-work balance (in that order!) - Remote friendly - “Live by the beach, work in the Cloud,” plus company office locations in Palm Coast, FL; Atlanta, GA; Tysons, VA; Lexington, KY - Unlimited Paid Time Off (RTO), 401K with Company Match, and Medical, Vision, & Dental coverage - Competitive quarterly bonus opportunities - Continuing education and certification reimbursements, specifically within the Salesforce & Snowflake ecosystems; plus occasional in-house competitions with spot bonuses - A flexible and fun team culture!
