Assist in designing electrical systems for refrigeration units and plants, incorporating sustainable and alternative construction methods. Responsibilities - Assist in developing and documenting basic electrical design concepts for refrigeration units under guidance from senior engineers. - Support the creation and updating of electrical and functional schematics, including helping integrate vendor‑supplied electronic controllers. - Contribute to small design tasks or customization activities as directed by the engineering team. - Help ensure designs follow applicable technical standards by performing research and supporting compliance reviews. - Assist the project team in collecting and organizing market or customer specifications. - Support communication with suppliers by preparing documentation or gathering technical information as needed. - Help create and maintain product documentation such as manuals, technical data sheets, and design files. - Provide support to Quality and Service teams regarding basic troubleshooting, non‑conformity reporting, or training materials. - Assist the Innovation Centre with preliminary research or documentation related to patentss Qualifications - Experience: No prior professional experience required; relevant coursework or academic projects preferred. - Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field. About This Role As a Lead Electrical Engineer at Very, you will work closely with our Software, Hardware, and Product Design teams to deliver full-service solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in electrical system architecture, schematic design, and board-level development, along with a strong understanding of how electrical decisions impact manufacturability, reliability, and product performance. You will be expected to communicate effectively across disciplines, clearly presenting design decisions, tradeoffs, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Successful candidates will have experience translating business and product requirements into robust electrical designs, collaborating in interdisciplinary teams, and supporting designs from early concept through production and scale. Role Description Revamp is seeking a Power Systems Studies Engineer with a strong emphasis on Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) analysis. This role focuses on performing transient overvoltage and switching studies using EMT simulation tools while maintaining competency in core power system analyses. Duties & Responsibilities - Technical Responsibilities and Focus Areas - Perform EMT-based transient studies including: - Temporary Overvoltage (TOV) - Transient Recovery Voltage (TRV) - Switching Overvoltage (SOV) - Lightning and surge analysis - Develop and execute simulations using PSCAD (primary) and/or EMTP-RV. - Evaluate insulation coordination and equipment duty under transient conditions. - Develop and validate system models, including inverter-based resources (PV, BESS). - Perform core power system studies including: - Power flow studies - Short-circuit studies - Harmonic analysis and mitigation assessment - Prepare engineering documentation and structured technical reports. - Translate study results into practical engineering recommendations (e.g., surge arrester selection, breaker ratings, insulation levels, harmonic filtering). - Project Related Responsibilities - Coordinate with internal discipline team members to complete assigned tasks. - Prepare structured, defensible technical reports suitable for client and utility review. - Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of assigned engineering work. - Interface directly with clients and utilities to define study scope, present results, and support technical discussions. - Additional Responsibilities - Maintain accurate project documentation and modeling files. - Support schedule coordination and timely delivery of assigned tasks. - May assist in developing work plans for assigned study tasks. - Complete essential duties including meeting assigned deadlines and deliverables. - Perform other related duties as required.
